How many roster spots does your league have (1 Viewer)

In the local league I commish, we are increasing the # of WRs from 2 to 3 (from 8 to 9 total starters.) Does that mean I need to increase the # of roster spots from 16 to 18?

Looking for ways others do it.

9 starters/16 on roster or 10 starters with 17 on the roster is what we typically use.

I'm looking to shake things up this year by going with 9 starters and only 12 0r 13 roster spots. Maybe the increased transactions and roster management will spice things up a bit.

Added 2 new teams..so now we are 12 teams, 3 divisions, 14 totals roster spots, start 1 QB, 1-2 RB, 3-4 RECs (combined WR/TE), 1 K, 1 DEF).

Very competitive league...I'm sure the trade/waiver wire will be busy this year.

We did the same thing a couple of years ago. Changed from 16 total (8 starters/8 reserve) to 17 total (9 starters/8 reserve).Seems about right for us. You can build depth but there is still plenty of waiver action.

Bigger rosters favors better drafters.

Smaller rosters favors better in-season managers.

About 1:1 ratio of starters / bench is about right.

Keep in mind that Weeks 6 and 7 this year are murderous with 6 teams on a BYE.

12 team re-draft using IDP.

Last year, we had 26 roster spots for 16 starters (8 on offense, 8 on defense).

This year, we're considering going to 9 starters on offense and defense and bumping up the roster to 28 players.

Very interesting. You just changed my strategy.God. I love this site.

I feel like making my sig, which has been there since old-old yeller, 8 points larger.

Happy to help. :)

I've always liked # starters = # bench players
Me too. I like a deep draft where skill has larger role. There will still be waiver wire action, especially if you go in order of reverse standings.

Agree on both counts. (We're 8/16)

What do people do with 2 QB leagues?

We currently have 9 starters and 7 reserves, but may be increasing to 2 starting QBs, would you recommend keeping the orster size the same or increasing it by one.

My 2QB league has been 10 starters and 7 reserves for a few years now, and we seem to be ok. Though I do think the in-season management has been more crucial than the draft because of our setup.

3 leagues:

14 starters at 9 positions, 25 total roster spots

14 starters at 9 positions, 26 roster spots

26 starters at 13 positions, 55 roster spots (dynasty)
