How much attention do you place on Weather? (1 Viewer)

How much importance do you give to the weather conditions? For example, if there is a high chance of rain for a given game, do you discount QB's/WR's and bump up RB's? There are a few games today (GB, Chicago, Seattle) that are predicting rain or showers. I personally would downgrade QB's quite a bit, slightly downgrade WR's and upgrade RB's. However I don't have any stats to back this up. What is your opinion?

WR's generally have better days when it rains due to blown coverages, defensive players not getting footing, etc.

There was a study published here last year or the year before that demonstrated that light to moderate rain etc. has a minimal effect on the game. Extreme weather was a different impact if I remember correctly.

Yep. This discussion starts every year right about now. Rain has minimal impact. Now...the hurricanes that we saw, that is another story.

I usually only let weather impact my kicker decision. Otherwise, I don't let it play a big part unless the weather is severe.

For Seattle games it carries zero weight. So far they've had rain during one home game at Qwest Field. Just one. When it does rain, it's just a light drizzle compared to the rain I remember seeing when I lived in Pennsylvania as a kid. It really doesn't rain that much (volume) up here in our area. However, the frequency of the rain is fairly significant from November through March.
