How much longer are Fitz and Boldin under contract (1 Viewer)

If memory serves, and it doesn't often :banned: , Fitz is signed for 4 more years while Boldin's deal is coming to an end next season. Does anyone know for sure or know how to search that info?

no doubt the talent & youth of the receiving weapons that could be arrayed around him for a long time is one of the best things to like about leinart... before draft i had VY graded higher (fully realizing he might take longer to develope but probably had higher upside once he got there... most of my leagues are dynasty)... i was even prepared to take cutler ahead of him if he landed in a more favorable place... but when leinart landed in ARI i landed him in 3 of four leagues... in some cases by taking him a little higher (ahead of white or addai), in another by trading up when i didn't think he would fall...

Kind of a chicken-and-egg situation, though, isn't it? I mean, Fitz and Boldin are great, but it's the guy throwing them the ball that matters too. If Leinart's arm strength can't get them the ball when their open, doesn't matter how good they are, their value takes a downturn.

Not to hate on anyone, just curious I guess on how you value Leinart based on who he's throwing to, rather than base the receivers on who's throwing the ball.

More importantly, Boldin's cap numbers look affordable throughout the life of the contract.
Code:
Boldin, Anquan Salary History 2003 225000.00 2004 305000.00 2005 1500000.00 2006 1750000.00 2007 2000000.00 2008 2500000.00 2009 2750000.00 2010 3000000.00
Fitz has a much higher set of cap numbers which could also theoretically be affordable if he's the stud they expected him to be on draft day; I'd expect for him to be renegotiated in the next two years.
Code:
Fitzgerald, Larry Salary History 2004 1050000.00 2005 305000.00 2006 3317500.00 2007 830000.00 2008 1092500.00 2009 1355000.00

You are a dirty rat Bob ;) Of course, I got him in your 4th. :)

The way I look at these QBs, Leinart is the safest pick to be a startable QB, and has top 5 upside. VY and Cutler also have top 5 upside, but more risk. (yes, there's a lot of QBs with that upside)

Much higher set of cap numbers? Fitz' biggest cap number is 3,317,500$ this year.

You're exactly right. I was reading the last two numbers as having an extra zero. :bag:
lol...I copy pasted the numbers into word and put spaces between numbers to make sure. :P

though leinart may not have as live an arm as cutler or young (cutler has a cannon), i don't see it as that big a liability... he may not be able to drive the ball into tight windows on deep outs, but that is about it...boldin is most dangerous on slants & leinart's arm is good enough for that... fitz isn't really a speed merchant, either, but is one of the best in the business at getting position on DBs & going up for the ball, which leinart also shouldn't have too much trouble with...

but i hear your point... if joey harrington went to ARI, i would like him more than in DET, but i wouldn't be nearly as excited about him as leinart, who has top notch football smarts, leadership & intangibles, and has better feet and is more athletic than given credit for (nearly 38" vertical)...

Denny Green is a pretty solid evaluator of talent and quarterbacks have thrived in his offensive scheme. I think given the entire package you have to like Matt Leinart landing in Arizona.

Just curious, when did Boldin sign an extension? I am having a brain fart. I seriously can't remember it ever happening. And it must've happened in the last year or two!

I have to assume Lienart is at least as good as Mccown and Warner, and look what Boldin and Fitz did with them last year.Leinhart in Tennessee or NYJ - not so good

Leinhart in Arizona -

to be honest I got alot of questions of leinhart's skills but in that offense its hard to not take a chance on him
