How to Trade? (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I've always been bad at trading but my team is doing so terribly I need to do something. i usually know what I need/want, but i never have a good strategy to get them.

I'm looking for general Trading Advice. I know the guys in my league pretty well which i think will be beneficial.

My team,
QBs-Wilson / Manning
WRs-Brown / Fitzgerald / Maclin / Snead / Floyd
RBs- Ingram / J. White / S. Ware / Riddick / D. Johnson jr.
TE-Ertz
DE-Min.

The key to making trades is trying to figure out what your trade partner is lacking and hopefully you have depth in that spot that will fit a need.  I typically look at all the other teams and pinpoint areas on each team that I think are weaknesses and then approach them if I have someone that might fit that weakness.

Asking how they rank their players at a position you are looking to improve is also a good way to gather info.  If you like a RB on another team and that guy isn't starting him because he thinks it's his #4 guy he is more likely to move him if he can benefit somewhere else.

The key is to communicate and talking on the phone or in person helps with that a lot.  It's hard to just fire off offers that get blindly rejected and make any progress in trade talks.

Thanks Gally, that's good advice.

Edit: Follow up question, how would you evaluate where another team is lacking? Totals? Averages? Projections?
