***Howard Stern*** (3 Viewers)

Can anyone find a link to the Howard Stern on Bill Boggs Comedy Tonight episode? This is the one when he was fired from WNBC and before K-rock when he was keeping himself out there looking for work. They talked about it during the history show that just played, I remember watching it and it might have been the funniest thing I have ever seen. He literally tied the host up, put an S&M ballgag in his mouth and took over the show. I do remember him shooting him with a seltzer bottle a couple of times while he was hogtied and gagged and nearly soiled myself. Someone has to find a link to this, I tried you tube and couldn't come up with it.

Looking forward to hearing a live show tomorrow.
Did you guys get to hear any of the History of Howard Stern Part 2 the past few weeks? Great stuff again. I think part 3 will be my favorite, beginning with 1990 or 1991.

yes it was very good once again and i agree on the act 3 i think it will be my favorite too i cant wait for it

Anyone who thinks Howard has lost his fastball needs to hear the "**** Clark clips" segment from today's show.

OMG :excited: :lmao:

I was in tears.

"Next year, they're going to have Kirk Douglas and **** do the countdown together."

And Fred with the Crackhead Bob/**** Clark hybrid impressions.......

Was soooooo looking forward to the Dr. Drew spot, and what he would have to say about Artie.

But again, for the 5 millionth time, fat cow Robin has to make everything about her. She would not stop interrupting everyone, with her worthless observations and completely unfunny comments totally ruining the entire segment.

I hate her. I don't want her to die..... but pretty close.

Really?I hate Robin as much as the next guy but she wasn't the one that killed that spot today; Artie was the murderer today. He constantly interrupted, was coming off as a total doosh, and wasn't even funny. Not sure what he was on today, but it was an upper.

Gotta go with Rebirtha on this one, Artie was awful today. Im a huge Artie fan, but he wasnt funny today and was just loud and annoying during the Dr Drew spot.

It was almost like he was pushing Howard to see how much he could get away with.

He's trying everything he can to get fired. That's the only explanation I have.
I gotta agree with Artie ruining it and I have to say for the first time that I think I'm getting sick of him. He still comes up with great lines but has to pull it back. I thought he ruined the Benecio Deltoro interview too.

I used to be a huge Artie fan... but the latest string of lies and drug use and "rehab" stunts I don't know if I give a #### about him anymore. I agree that he ruined the Dr. Drew bit. He's so defensive about his drug use and so hesitant to therapy I fear he won't get help until he's broke and lying in a gutter in the middle of nowhere. And to be honest, I think he'd rather die than get better. What a sad existence.

I'm actually considered canceling my two Sirius subscriptions.

If you would have cancelled yesterday, you wouldnt have heard that hiliarious Jim Breuer interview today. One of the funniest interviews Ive heard on Stern in some time

Huge fan of Breuer Unleashed. Unfortunately Friday's is all we get from him now.So many people don't think he's funny at all, I think he's hilarious.

i agree that Artie blew up the Dr. Drew interview. By the end, Howard would try to ask him a question and he'd pause to wait for Artie, then give some resigned one-sentence answer. However, I don't think he killed the Benicio interview. Benicio was not talking at all so Artie jumped in. The only time that Benicio got going was when Artie got animated with the Jack and whatnot.

Seriously, listen to regular radio for a week or two before you do that. It's horrible and unlistenable after having Sirius.Just horrible.
That's why I have an ipod. Haven't even turned on my sirius radio today. Been listening to my ipod since my commute this morning. Can't bring myself to turn Howard on today.

Missed a good show today. Breur was hilarious and Richard Lewis is always good

switched my #1 preset to The Virus, only visit Howard 101 when Bubba and Ferrall are on.

Can't wait for the PGA network to be on once the golf season picks up. The live Masters broadcast made driving much easier.

:goodposting: My antenna broke yesterday and I am already going nuts without Sirius, especially since I am in my car most of the day. Yes, I can easily just play CDs but I do agree about going back to regular radio. Awful.

I didn't listen Wednesday. Tried to listen Thursday from the beginning only to hear how Robin can't remember what day it is, and then Artie saying his entertainment lawyer advised against him taking any drug test. Which clearly means he's afraid he'll be back on heroin.

I've had it. While I will probably keep Sirius for Octane 20 alone, I am fed up with the Howard Stern show.

#1 - Artie's a fat lying drug addict. He used to be my favorite thing about the show. I don't have a lot of respect for people who lie to and abuse their families and their friends. His behavior is a slap in the face to all his fans. His refusal to take a drug test because he doesn't want to miss out on the $200,000 he'd make doing gigs for one month sure causes a huge disconnect with the blue collar people he claims he can relate to.

#2 - Robin not knowing what day it is??? Seriously? Get outta here you #####. You've managed to piggy back yourself a nice career next to Howard. Don't pretend you are so busy you don't really even know if it's Monday or Wednesday. That's just stupid.

#3 - Howard..... To allow Artie's behavior to go on, and not hold him accountable for his drugs and lies tells me two things. First, you can't handle running the show alone anymore. You rely too much on Artie and don't think the fans would stick around without Artie there. And secondly, you don't care about Artie as a person, only as a contributor to the show. If you created a rock bottom for him, he wouldn't be the way he is. So just keep enabling this user and watch him slowly kill himself with heroin.

No offense, but LMAO @ this rant. It's a show for entertainment purposes, these people are not your friends. If you don't find it funny, then sure change the channel, but I don't understand this anger.

He's balls-on about the part I bolded, however.Artie's original appeal was that he was "everyman"... used to be a dock worker and look at him now. But he rubs our collective noses in his money, and I'm also tired of it. Hey, did you hear he has a huge, sprawling house on the Jersey shore??? If not, keep listening and you'll hear it again within 35 seconds.

I only find this Artie tolerance annoying in that it's the kind of thing that they'd mock if it was on another show. Not their only moment of hypocrisy, but still annoying. Despite these flaws, Eric the Midget is only on Howard 100 and that is gold every time for me.

Where did I say they were my friends?

Good MTT right now. April 1, 2004 when Tom comes on with a message that HS was fired overnight and replaced with Cross and Lopez. They do like an hour of a terrible show while all the fans go crazy, before HS comes in and reveals it was an April fool's joke.

:unsure:I totally fell for that when it was live.

Artie Lange: The Story Behind the Story Rolling Stone Link

Artie Lange called Rolling Stone writer Vanessa Grigoriadis an “uppity #####” on this morning’s Howard Stern Show, but Grigoriadis tells Rock Daily the comic is “really generous and sweet.” Grigoriadis, who profiled Lange in the current issue, adds, “Although I think he may have been trying to kiss my ###. Also, he’s very fat.” He’s also very troubled: When Rolling Stone’s photographer arrived at Lange’s Hoboken, New Jersey apartment to photograph the funnyman for the story “America’s Biggest Loser,” Lange was admittedly in the midst of a five-day heroin bender.

“His apartment is hilarious,” she says. “It was entirely decorated by his mom. There is nothing in that apartment that makes any sense to Artie Lange. He put out all these vinyl records so I can see them.” Bruce Springsteen’s Darkness on the Edge of Town and Neil Young records were left out in plain sight; Lange also made it clear he was a big fan of Hunter S. Thompson, so the Rolling Stone interview was especially important to him. So important, in fact, he reportedly left a Florida rehabilitation center early so not to delay the profile any longer. “I’m sure he was really happy that his name is on the cover with a picture of Bruce Springsteen,” Grigoriadis says.

Even though Grigoriadis and Stern agreed the profile is an accurate portrait of the comic, Lange vented that the piece was “horrifying and awful” and complained that Grigoriadis was condescending. “I usually don’t tell people, ‘Wow, I’m such a fan,’ I just don’t do that,” Grigoriadis says. “I hung out with him three times, and by the third time it was almost uncomfortable, because it was so clear that he wanted me to be like, ‘Oh my God, Artie, you’re the best.’ So I was like, ‘You know what, dude, I’m just going to sit here and ignore your attempts to bolster your confidence.’ ”

Lange also accused her of instinctively not liking guys like him. “I don’t think I’m better than him. I don’t think I was being condescending. I think he’s really funny, and I liked his book, I thought it was really good,” Grigoriadis says. “I don’t think the article was condescending either. Look, I’m sure he’s not happy about the picture [above]. I wouldn’t be happy about the picture either. But honestly, I don’t think the article is bad. Just look at his book.”

Lange’s insecurity also came out when Grigoriadis told him that most of his stand-up routine was probably too offensive to publish in the interview. “He got really offended, and said, ‘Do you think my stand-up is offensive?’ I said, ‘I thought that what was you were going for.’ Apparently he does not take criticism well. He was like, ‘Saying my stand-up is offensive is like insulting my livelihood. I don’t want people to think they shouldn’t come to my stand-up,’” she adds. “That was the only thing I said to him that was even borderline confrontational.

“This is the whole problem with Artie: He’s a crazy attention-seeker,” Grigoriadis observes. “He wants the attention. It’s like a huge daddy complex with Howard Stern. He wants to be bad and good and have Stern make fun of him and also care about him.” The wear of doing stand-up and then waking up to do the Stern show is also affecting Lange. “That’s a hard thing on your body, even if you’re not doing what he’s doing.”

“Look I got into comedy so I could stay out all night,” Lange told Grigoriadis, “And I get the one ####### great job in comedy that’s like having a paper route.”

Despite his funny demeanor and rock star habits, Lange’s patterns surprised Grigoriadis. “You’d expect that someone like him, when they’re out on the road, after the show is like ‘Right on’ and runs around and gets totally wasted and picks up some hooker,” Grigoriadis says. “But what really goes on is that he goes back to his hotel room, gets high and hangs out by himself and stays up all night. And that’s very scary. That’s a stage of drug use that’s linked to depression.”

Um, sounds like she hit a whole bag of nails right on their heads.
