***Howard Stern*** (1 Viewer)

Oh, and I started listening to Stern when I was in Jr. High. He got syndicated to SF. Not a very exciting story.

But two of the more seminal news events from the last twenty years, the OJ murders and 9/11, I first heard about on Stern.

I heard about 9/11 on Stern too. On a 20 minute delay.

Artie seemed a little better today (at least from the 30 minutes of the richards interview that i was in the car for)

'Beer League' is coming up on the Comedy Channel at the top of the hour. Don't miss this cinematic masterpiece.
And that is one HUGE difference between Howard and Artie. Howard would never put his name on such a steaming pile of crap and Artie would do anything to make $1.25. I know there is a huge difference in their bank behind them, but it has been many years since Howard has done anything other then Howard TV to make money outside of the show. Not going to look, but it has been many years since Private Parts, the book or movie and 2x as many years since his last PPV.I think Artie knows that as soon as Howard goes or gets sick of him, his career as a money making machine is over and is trying to bank as much coin as humanly possible right now, no matter what the appearance to the world.

Well than he's not too smart for saddling himself with such an expensive shore house. If he does indeed pay 80k a month mortgage he better be putting away a lot of money.

He makes 80k at one gig, no worries.

How was Coppola?Have it recorded but haven't had a chance to listen yet.
very good, but my sirius was cutting out toward end. long interview (about an hour).Incidentally, Artie knew enough to keep quiet (he was either sitting back away from mic or he was flat out turned off). They had Coppola call out a Godfather scene for artie to do, he blew it a little, likely sending him back to the H.

 Not after Stern is off the air he won't.Also, good to hear he's ready to green light his reality show.:trainwreck:

I'll bet he chickens out regarding ripping on Jay.
:bag:
Dave tried to change the subject, but he kept going right back to it.
Pretty boring interview, I have to say. Nothing noteworthy or exceptionally funny.
He had nothing to promote or really do on the show. What I want to know is, Letterman and his people knew Conan was taking over the Tonight Show. They knew when his first week was, and they presumably knew they needed to come out guns blazing to start the second week. And they didn't even have Howard booked until less than a week before last night's show. They couldn't get ONE A-List star with something to promote ahead of time? What if Howard had said no? They were gonna lead with Mos Def? What the hell...No wonder he gets a 3 share and Leno's crappy show was beating him like a rented mule.

Pretty good. Howard got him to admit he's had a threesome.
Maybe it's my old age... but why would anyone give a #### if Coppola has had a threesome or not?
Agreed. There are 100,000 things one should ask Coppola before this. I would just assume that anyone that famous has had a threesome.
Didn't Ham Hands actually ask that question?

Artie under the delusion that his new 25 year old girlfriend had no idea who he was when she agreed to go out with him.

didn't he say that the manager at the tanner acknowledged who he was when he saw the number? she then called him back after that. if artie can't figure that out, he has killed one too many brain cell

Not that i would care if i were him, but who honestly thinks a supposedly gorgeous 25 year girl is going to want to date a fat, sloppy, unshaven, obnoxious, heroin addicted, sweatpants wearing 42 year old without getting something else out of it. Her worse case scenario is free Yankee tickets.

I thought Howard cane out mega charged up and said during the interview that he felt a lot of pressure to come strong, since they were counting on him to give them the boost to beat Conan. I was amazed that Howard came out dancing like that. I didn't think that he had it in him.Have to give credit for doing all the things that he said he would, kill Leno, kill Dave for the crappy wedding. A little LOOK AT ME with his wedding pics and Billy Joel serenading them story, but Howard is always a look at me kind of guy.

he actually looks a little less...death walking...nowadays.
I can't imagine anyone actually going out with Artie. How do you as a self respecting girl start to date an overweight, unclean, heroin using, hooker using drunk? No matter how far or near in the past most or some of those things are, I wouldn't date a girl with a resume like that and you can remove the overweight and unclean and trade for underweight and hot.

Anyone know what the fact of the matter is??? That is a really horrible verbal crutch he has. Surprised he can't shake it.

A few observations:

- Jillian is one COOL chick. Awesome, candid interview.

- Baba Booey is a good story teller. I was cringing as he was describing his penis ordeal because he painted the picture so well.

- The weatherman should throw Howard back into the water. Shame on Stern for validating this d00che by even mentioning him.

- I love how Robin constantly says "I was gonna say".... then she parrots what someone just said verbatim. Can't stand her.

Talks waaaaaaaaay too much
I thought she was amazing. I'll definitely watch her crappy reality show after this interview. The gun to the head stuff is crazy.
:lmao: unbelievably awesome radio. she wouldn't shut up but it seemed ok because she was revealing such crazy crap.

a simulated rape with a real gun to her head!!??

I saw the Letterman show. How far has Letterman fallen? In an attempt to go up against Conan, he gives his entire show over to Howard. Seems like Dave just gave up and let someone else do the work for him. Also, I guess the point of Howard showing his celebrity wedding pictures was to somehow embarrass Dave about his wedding in front of a Montana Justice of the Peace. If you remember when Dave's wedding was announced, Howard went on and on about it, and was obviously annoyed. I think Dave just didn't care, and the joke, or point, or whatever Howard was trying to make, didn't come across to the audience at all.A weak appearance.

Didn't you hear the plant, I mean, callers saying how great it was?

Sign me up as a plant then, I thought the show went great

Show has been very awkward since the Gilbert day. Howard might be done with Artie, and he may have let him know it too.

What happened? Should I DL?
Apparently they met in the studio after the Gilbert show for about 30 minutes, just the two of them. It was mentioned that day by the news but never mentioned again. Since then, Artie has been way off his game and Howard has seem completely dis-interested in anything Artie says.

I agree. Howard's whole interaction with Artie has been really weird since then. Especially this week. Doesn't even seem to respond to him. Though some of jokes have been hacky, overall I think he's toned it down a lot. When you're talking that much, your not always going to hit home runs.

Hmm, I never listen to the news, so I wasn't aware of that.I would think that the biggest thing is just the excessive racist and homophobic stuff. Howard has really moved away from this.

I didn't hear about the meeting after the show either. I wouldn't be surprised if the asked him to tone it down. It was mentioned more than a few times how fans are calling/writing in about him. He might just be a little unsure of what to say or do at the moment. I doubt they'd drop him but there might be a period of adjustment. I did notice Howard dismiss some jokes of Artie's without any reply but as was said, most have deserved no comment.
