***Howard Stern*** (4 Viewers)

I just started back up with the show this week after only sporadic listening over the last year. It seems like he's been forgetting things he normally wouldn't. For example, at the beginning today when he was talking about the Neil Young CD he mentioned Old Man as a song he likes. Not ten seconds later Old Man starts up and he asks what song is playing. I remember him being sharper than that. Has anyone else noticed this?

He's always been like that. They could have Blackbird or Stairway to Heaven playing in the background and Howard would still say "What's that, Fred?"

That's just the example that came to mind. He was forgetting other things all week. Maybe it's just me.

Are you talking about a difference from a year ago since you last listened? I don't see much of a difference besides that he is a lot more invoved in things besides the radio show. I think it's great to see that he's opened up to different things. Maybe they are a distraction.

Tuned in on what was a replay of him talking about his Mexico vacation. Totally, completely brutal. The worst I have ever heard his show, would rather listen to him talk about his lame TV show or cat adoption. Really wonder how much longer his show is going to go on.

From that story: I can see Howard and Rush as neighbors. Those guys have FU money. But Ann Coulter? I figured she was comfortable, but I would not have pegged her as a rich broad in the Stern/Limbaugh range.
the internets have her net worth at $8 million so your initial assumption is correct. I honestly have no idea how she generates an income outside of her books and I cannot imagine that being all that lucrative.

Haven't listened yet, but it looks like Maron just out up a wtf podcast with Artie as guest. That should be interesting.
worth a listen for sure. The conversation never gets that heavy (by Maron standards), but I learned a few things I didn't know before.
yeah, listened today. It was good. Most of it I knew, but it filled in some gaps for the past 2 years. Good stuff about Howard since he left. It's amazing that someone could have gone to such a ridiculously dark place and now be able to joke and laugh like always.

I know that a lot of times when they come out of a break that he has not been listening and did not have his headphones on, so he is just popping back in and hasn't heard whatever Fred has been playing during the break, so I can imagine that he is asking a lot of those times, as he just catches the final notes of something or none of it at all.

Howard likes to make fun of stupid people but he is borderline ######ed as it relates to numbers. He can't perform simple calculations. Good luck trying to get the sycophants that work for him to bring that up though.

Howard was struggling to come up with the name of the guy who lost to Nixon in the '72 Presidential race. Robin chimes in with "Ohhh, yeah... it's ummmm" as if it's on the tip of her tongue.

Fred answers "McGovern" and Robin says "right, right... McGovern!"

She's such an annoying, fraudulent dooshbag.

Did you here the interview with Todd Phillips (?), the guy who directed The Hangover(s)? He actually came at Robin and told her straight out that she just copied what Howard said, and Howard pretended to be offended/shocked. AND SHE DID IT AGAIN TWO MINUTES LATER!

He needed her in the early days because her presence made it permissible to make jokes about women AND blacks.

He doesn't need her anymore.

Howard loves her. Like.....LOVES her. Only way she will never be on the job is if she dropped dead. And even then he'd probably just quit.

I've said it before in this thread - Robin may be the most fortunate working person in the world. I'm sure she makes north of $1m a year, nobody likes her, and she probably spends 10 hours a week working. I don't consider her airtime to be work - she basically performs the same function as a caller. All she does is organize and read the news.

BTW - Hanzi bores me. I'd much rather listen to Eric.

The overblown Florida hurricane fear is pretty funny.
Yeah. Us living in hurricane central have no reason to have any problems with hurricanes. Idiot,

The Aaron Eckhart interview was very entertaining but what a narcissist. The story of him posing as a parent of a dead child in order to attend a support group is awful. Not sure why he revealed that.

I never get tired of Eric though.

Correction, I never get tired of Fred goofing on Eric.
I never get tired of Fred playing sounds or doing anything. I love when people are trying to figure out some fact and he doesn't say a thing unless somebody asks him, and he nearly always knows the answer.

The idea of that wrestler Bobby Rude threatening to punt Eric from the middle of the ring to the upper deck of the stadium still makes me laugh uncontrollably. The idea that such someone in such an unfortunate situation can arouse the antipathy that he does is mind-boggling.

I look at it the other way, the fact that he can be treated like the doosh that he is, regardless of his personal situation just represents a good thing. Most people who do have handicaps say that all they desire is to be treated as a normal person would. Let's be honest here, the guy is a high level toolbag and deserves most of the verbal beatdowns that he does receive.

Howard brought up the Leno interview he watched on 60 Minutes last night. Robin starts by saying she didn't even know it was on, so she didn't watch it. Then for the next 15mins while Howard goes into what Leno said, Robin is constantly telling Howard what Leno was thinking, what he meant by things, etc. SHE DIDN'T EVEN SEE THE ####### INTERVIEW!!!

ARGGHGHHGHGHH

man, if I was east coast I would have tried calling into the wrap up show to mention this

First two hours of today's show were the funniest in a long time.

Goofing on JD, "Jegan." Will was actually funny.

Howard was railing on celebrities which he doesn't do too often nowadays.

The asian-pete game had me rolling.
