Artie was right to want to fight that guy after what he said about his sister. Anybody would be.
The main reason Artie blew up is because Mike embarrassed him by bringing up that Artie joked about Gary's paycheck to members of the show at a party. Artie "mistakenly" opened it up when it was sent to his house. Gary corraborated the story and said that he had previously talked to Artie about it explaining that he was hurt by that.

Thanks. It really seemed like that's what set Artie off, but I didn't know the story behind it. It was played off as being about his sister, but listening to the replay showed that to be the trigger point.

I think Artie likes to come off as an "everyman"... but the money has definitely gone to his head. That was evident when he had that blowup with Sal. He immediately went to the "I'm great -- you are nothing -- you'll never make my kind of money -- I deserve to be treated better than you, etc." card as soon as his back was to the wall. As much as he makes me laugh most of the time, I resent the fact that a lazy bum like him can make so much cash working 20 hours a week on the show.... and he has the nerve to complain about the hours!I hope he loses everything and has to go back into construction. We'll see what his view of the world is then.

I think Artie is totally conflicted with the money he has. Notice when they were playing the audio of the Giants fans after the win, he was saying "that's me", but then they goofed on him when he bought the 1000 roses saying, "yeah, how many of those Giants fans can buy that".

I just think he doesn't feel like he deserves the money, he really does feel like the "everyman" but can't come to grips with not being that anymore. He does all he can to get rid of the money he's earned. He's talked about still being "one of the boys" back home, but that's probably not true anymore.

he's way more f'd up then even he lets on.

One thing that drives me absolutely nuts is teh way he rushes through the news because he wants to get off the air. Many times, Artie, Fred, and Robin are making great and funny comments on a news story, and Howard comes in with his "Ok, what else Robin?". It's hard enjoying lisening to something when the host is giving a clear impression that he's done trying to be entertaining and wants to get out of there. Next time you listen to the news (which is at teh end of his broadcast) pay attention to how many times he says, "Ok, what else Robin".
I can't stop noticing it now. He says it on almost every single news story.Yesterday he did it in the middle of Robin's sentence and she kept talking and Howard just said, "Oh." like he was surprised she wanted to still talk.

It's laughable and rude.

And completely explainable since Robin is just mailing it in.

She can't even read the damn articles properly. Half the time she does the news it sounds like a grade school kid trying to read in front of the class.

I love when Robin introduces a clip by saying, "Here's Bill Smith talking about the school being closed this Friday, A-2."

Bill Smith: "The school is closed this Friday."

I'm becoming increasingly irritated with the show lately. Howard rushes through the news, Artie complains about having to get up early 4 days a week to make a million bucks a year, They take off Fridays and play that awful MTT.... Also I think there are more commercials now than when they first launched on Sirius. Some of the live spots are annoying the hell out of me now. Seems like there are 2 live spots every commercial break.

I'm a long time fan of the show, and will still pay my $20 a month for my 2 lines, but the honeymoon is over and I'm beginning to doubt I'll remain a fan until Howard retires. I've actually flipped over to listen to the Ferrall replay on my drive into work a few times in the last few weeks.

I don't know... hopefully Howard starts to recognize it, but at this point, it sure seems he's just going through the motions.

Howard's rants about other celebrities shilling products are now getting on my nerves. For someone who strives to be against hyprocrisy, to me, he seems like a hypocrite on this issue. Between HowardTV pay-per-view and the commercials, he seems to have no problem charging people for something outside of his core business. Granted there is some value in what he sells, but it's no different than Oprah hawking shirts or Imus peddling bumper stickers.

Disgruntled fans of Stern might want to check out Kidd Chris' (OJ crank calls, Sulu dance) show. WYSP in Philly, or here: http://www.kiddshow.yournextgraphicdesigner.com/

I'd recommend the Feb. 7th show, personally. I usually listen to both shows during the course of the day...
PODCAST!!!! awesome thanks
No problem. The, ahem, *OFFICIAL* podcast has been discontinued because they want people to listen to the show itself, so this one's on the down-low.

And this is what I find so funny about the news. The whole point of it (IMO) is Howard hates the entire news broad cast. Robin asks to play a clip from actor X talking about movie Y and Howard plays about 2 seconds and then tells Robin to move on, I love it.

Agreed. F Robin. Howard can interrupt every damn one of her stupid stories for all I care. She sucks in every aspect of the show. She actually used to research her news. Novel concept, eh? Did you hear her mention MLB commish Bud "SELL-ig" yesterday? If she's going to do a story, is it too much to ask for her to pronounce names correctly?

I like how they shortened the Mars Attacks clip to just two QUACK QUACKS when Eric calls. That is gold.

When Howard imitates his parents, his mother sounds like Howard Cosell and the father sounds like Henry Kissinger.

I used to be such a huge fan, but this show has just gone downhill so badly. I listen maybe once a week now.

Honestly, listen to Jason Ellis 3-7pm EST on Faction 28. He claims to be the future, and he is... awesome show!

ETM's calls are gold. I can't get enough. If he were on for 2 hours a day I'm not sure I'd ever get tired of it.
Other than Richard's calls, Eric is the best part of the show by a mile.I love how Howard keeps Eric on forever, and when Jeff the Drunk calls, two seconds later Howard says "Okay, thank you Jeff."

Yea, that 2nd pic is Hef's girlfriend, Kendra.

Missed it this morning - got bored w/Lisa Rinna and turned it off. Can someone elaborate on the ETM stuff? What was "wild thing"?

I agree with the other poster - if the whole show was ETM I would be happy.

Eric recorded a love song to his "girlfriend"."Sung" to the tune of Wild Thing

Gossip Game.

Please end this boring, awful ridiculous segment. I zone out every time Mike Walker comes on. Almost immediately.
