How's Javan Walker doin? (1 Viewer)

In a 12 team league, I took him in the 4th round as my 2nd WR last night.
How's the latest news on him? I'm debating b/w Walker, AJ, Housch, Lee Evans, and Warrick Dunn at my next pick, but I can't find a shred of news on Walker. All the news out of Denver is about RBs, big surprise.

My buddy who is a Denver homer says he is looking just OK, Walker may not be the WR he was until next season.

I haven't heard any negatives, so I am just hoping with Smith a year older and Lelie gone, and Plummer knowing that Cutler is poised to take his spot if he struggles, that Walker could be due for a nice year despite recovering from his injury. Those other guys all went in the 4th round as well, with Evans going in the 5th.

:(

He was held out last week due to a very wet field. Playing it safe. I heard he is learning the offense and very athleti at practice. He is cutting and catching fine. It will be one year exactly since the injury so he should emerge early this season. He is good at going deep and jumping for the ball. He can do that. Catching short passes and going the distance can wait.

Javon Walker didn't have one pass thrown his way against Tennessee, but that wasn't a big deal to him. It was Walker's first game since tearing his right ACL in Week 1 last season when he was with Green Bay. Walker said he had no physical issues against the Titans.

"It felt real good to get out there and play," Walker said.

I expect him to be rusty the first few games, but he should pick up steam and could be in great form for the playoffs.

Not the 1wr

acl inj

run first team

good d no need to pass alot

took a few years in gb to lear the playbook 3yr

walker is overvalued alot this year he should not be a starter for a team in most leagues hes a wr coming off a acl tear.

4th round? Wow...Wait another round and get the better WR in Denver, Rod Smith. Walker = 65/850/6Smith = 90/1250/8
Wow, Rod Smith is 36 years old. At some point he's gotta slow down, and I think it's this year. But I'd still give him a team leading 75 grabs.

I love Rod Smith, but he hasn't topped 1200 yards, 90 receptions, or 8 TDs since 2001, and only once in the past 5 years has he had 13.9 yards per reception. I think you're overrating him, and am curious as to why you think his numbers will IMPROVE with Walker in town.Lelie only ran one route, so everything else went to Rod Smith. Even if Walker's only 75%, he can run the same routes Rod can, so he'll be directly competing for touches. I see Rod's receptions regressing a little bit from last season. 75/1000/6.Everything I've heard from Lammey says that Walker looks like an absolute stud, and you can't even tell he was injured. It'll take him a little while to get acquainted, but I've got him down for about 70/1000/6, and if either Denver WR were to noticably outperform their projection, I'd bet it'd be Javon.

Exactly, nice recap. I got Walker for a mere $1 in our auction because everyone figured he would do little due to Smith and the injury, and that's a very logical stance IMO.....but I overspent on RB and had to gamble on upside

I agree that Walker's upside is steep in a dynasty, but in a redraft, he puzzles me. I could see him dipping below Mushin Muhammad in ADP and value, or I could see him up with Plax, Roy, and Mason.

Thoughts on Walker in a redraft?
