How's the Garrad and Schuab QB combo looking? (1 Viewer)

I am actually playing Shaun Hill in week 2 who I drafted as my QB3 - I played Schaub in both my leagues yesterday and I am down by 26pts tonight with LT, SD Kicker & Def vs Randy Moss and in my other league I am up by 20pts with Welker and the Pats Def against Rivers & TO

I still have a wing and a prayer for victories in both leagues even with Schaubs crap game.

thanks for the update

After 2 games last season Schaub had 390 yards, 1 TD and 5 INTS. He went on to be top 5 in points per game.

After 3 games last season Garrard had 547 yards, 1 TD and 4 INTs. He went on to be QB 11?

It's week 1, relax.

Anyone rolling with garrard as QB1 was doomed from the start anyways. Garrard is a gameclosck manager. not a fantasy differnce maker.

It may be one week. However, I thought I was king of the hill with McNabb, Schaub and Garrard as my QB's, and I am feeling a bit differently after this Sunday.

Garrard will look better when the rookie tackles gets more experience. Though, the fact that the Jags are starting two rookie tackles really should have been considered more of a factor in the analysis.

I'll admit I am not liking this combo but I am hungover from yesterdays poor performances. I am so glad to have great depth elsewhere when my qb scores 4 points

hopefully I am overreacting

In all fairness I think even Dodds had garrard at QB 14ish this week,(with schaub at 9, i.e. it was one of the 'weaker' weeks for the combo as well) Also I Don't think he was alone in the shoch of a 24-7 jets win, with a rookie at the helm.

But I will be tossing a "project" player to pick up a flacco or the like just in case...

One of my teams has this duo rostered. If one waits in the draft for a QB, that roster should have some real studs on it at the other positions anyway. Schaub will rebound from this debacle... Garrard I'm not so sure about. That O line is awful and he doesn't have much mobility.

Jets were playing inspired football for the new coach and have Revis.

Colts allowed 6 passing td's all of last year.

It's 1 week. I have Garrard in 2 leagues but sat him since I felt yesterday would be tough.

I would consider Garrard mobility to be good

Garrard had enough time to score 15 NFL points this week and enough time to score several more fantasy points. I've been trying not to pile on with the Garrard hate since it's such a popular subject given the Perfect Draft article. But I've questioned all along the wisdom of having David as your QB1. He's okay. I expect him to end up at least around starting fantasy QB stats. But they guy is just not a good QB. He locks onto WRs, checks down constantly and teams have figured that out. He has 1 40+ yard completion in his last 600+ attempts. He's not terrible, but I just don't see much upside potential and don't expect him to be as reliable as he's been in the past due to teams figuring out that he's scared to throw it deep.

Honestly as a Garrard/Schaub owner in multiple leagues I am very intrigued by Michael Vick. If he has the opps (which a mcnabb broken rib may have just created) wouldn't he be everything Garrard is, but more explosive with the run, on a better team, with a better D?

I don't know...I saw him in the preseason and thought he looked pretty awful. His running didn't seem too explosive at all in what I saw.

I hope you're right as I sat Garrard yesterday as well. I'm really not feeling that comfortable with him as one of my 2 QB's but I did sit him yesterday as well. I will become more worried if he struggles against the Cardinals this week.

2nd year for the Schaub and Garrard combo for me, and I'm not worried. Waiting on QB you get games like this. In my league if you can average 11pts per starter you win 90% of the time. This combo can do more than that most weeks. Being a good NFL QB doesn't necessarily mean a good fantasy QB. Aaron Brooks was a great fantasy QB while not so impressive as an NFL QB. I think Garrard will be better than Brooks was for fantasy because he'll be more consistent since he's a better NFL QB than Brooks was.

FBG's QBBC hasn't worked for years. I followed the plan for a few years, but realized it was a disaster. Yes, you can dig for better tandems, but why can't the experts come up with the better tandem first? Any guppy could have figured this one would be a train wreck.
