Just a repository for the brilliance that is Hue Jackson. Feel free to add as you see fit and I will update.

Week 1 CLE 21 (0-0-1) - PIT 21 (0-0-1) Game Stats

  • Game ends in a tie when PIT blocks a 43 yard game winning FG because PIT claims they knew the snap count. The kicking team used the same snap count throughout the game.
  • The No. 33 overall pick was inactive for the game.
  • Jabrill Peppers calls for a fair catch with at least 15 yards of open field late in the game that could have given the Browns excellent field position https://twitter.com/BrownsFilmBDN/status/1039601142492262400
  • Started an undrafted rookie (Desmond Harrison) at LT after not playing a snap in preseason.
  • 11 penalties for 87 yards. Some highlights, back-to-back offsides to kill an early drive and a late block in the back by Myles Garrett on an INT return that moved the game winning FG attempt back from about the 25 yard line to the 43 yard line.
  • Tyrod Taylor was not good in a rain soaked mess finishing up with a 51.8 passer rating.
  • Browns were +5 in takeaway margin, the league is 132-4-1 when +5 or better. The Browns account for 2 of those losses and the tie.
  • Hue said repeatedly throughout the week Josh Gordon would not start the game. Josh Gordon played the first snap. When asked about the mix up, “The personnel group got him out there,” Jackson told reporters after the 21-21 tie. “The personnel group got him out there in the first play. I saw it just like you did. Not what I wanted, but we will get through that, too.”
The good: Defense played well but gave up a lot of yards amassing 427 total yards in a driving rain storm. Myles Garrett was a force accounting for two forced fumbles, 2 sacks and multiple disruptions in the PIT backfield. Rookie Denzel Ward also recorded 2 INT's. Jarvis Landry played well catching 7 passes for 107 yards with a couple of nice grabs and goading a PIT defender into a 15 yard penalty.

Personal note - find me a shot of Hue on the sidelines at any point in the game when he didn't look confused...I dare you.

Week 2 CLE 18 (0-1-1) - NOS 21 (1-1-0) Game Stats

  • Prior to the game, Browns stated Josh Gordon was starting and seemingly all was good on Friday. Saturday announced the team was parting ways with Gordon after he showed up late for a team meeting and complaining of a sore hamstring. Lot's of speculation around this move so I will leave it be for now and let facts play out.
  • Story of the game, Zane Gonzalez missing two PAT's and two FG's including a 52 yard potential game winner. Dude had a lackluster camp but yet here we are, 0-1-1 thanks to a kicker.
  • Defense stepped up and had two more takeaways, quiet day for Myles Garrett but Larry Ogunjobi made up for it with 2 sacks.
  • Penalties were way down, 4 for 43 yards. More importantly, no drive killers.
  • Through two games, defense has 8 takeaways that have resulted in 10 pts.
  • Offense wasn't bad, wasn't good but did what they needed to to win. Tyrod had a beautiful 47 yard hookup with Antonio Callaway for the then game tying score

Tyrod Taylor was efficient and aided by the bomb to Calloway, finished the day with a 94.6 passer rating.

Side note, Desmond Harrison looked good. As many have said, might have found a diamond in the rough here

[*]Hard to put this one on Hue. Being a Browns fan is just draining.

[*]Monday following the game it is announced that kicker Zane Gonzalez is battling a groin injury, team debates placing him on waivers or entering into an injury settlement.

  • Team signs Greg Joseph as new kicker

Week 3 CLE (1-1-1) - NYJ (1-2-0) Game Stats

  • Placeholder for 1st win in almost 2 years
  • :goodposting: Called that on 9/17 so we're taking the week off from throwing Hue under the bus. Tyrod Taylor played most of the first half before going out with a concussion and Baker Mayfield took over. The kid threw a laser to Jarvis Landry on his first play from scrimmage and never looked back leading the Browns to their first victory in 635 days.
  • The Mayfield era in Cleveland has begun...

The Tenn loss last year belongs on here IMO. I know last year but it was a real beauty.
We're focusing on this year unfortunately. Hue is starting with a clean slate in my book because the team he had last year would have lost to Cincinnati Prep. Always looking forward :D

As a kid I got to watch Jim Brown, and Leroy Kelly, the Browns were great. I remember Brain Sipe and the cardiac kids.  I remember the dawg pound and passionate fans.  Cleveland deserves better.  I'm rooting for your guys.

...but I was told best season in modern history for the Browns. Gordon was going to be one of the top 3 WRs, Chubb wins ROY, Njoku was going to be a stud. Landry gobbling up receptions, Callaway was going to be a steal, Mayfield the next Tom Brady, and an actual rosterable defense.

How could the coach of the above be on a hot seat

Didn't they just come back from 21-7 on Pittsburgh in terrible weather?

Sounds like a nice week for a draw for me.

I've always been on Hue's side. I think he's not that bad as others have been before him.

Just about everything is in place except QB and HC. Once those get resolved, this team takes the next step. Baker Mayfield should be starting. The difference between him and Taylor is the difference between winning and losing.

I’m pulling for the Browns (currently living outside of Cleveland as an Eagles fan) but Hue doesn’t strike me as a very good coach. And I’ve never been a fan of Haley.

Yeah, they really don't seem like a terrible team. They need some adjustments, some discipline, and a firm belief that the number one overall is your starter.  I think Hue can oversee them to about 6-9-1 in that division, no small turnaround.
