Problem being, every week he sits McCoy seems to further solidify his looks. Not saying he's about to overtake Westbrook, just that the more we see the more difficult he'll be to keep off the field.his playoff run/playoff schedule is so juicy. i dont mind resting him another week.Nov 15 @San Diego 4:15pm Buy NowNov 22 @Chicago 8:20pm Buy NowNov 29 Washington 1:00pm Buy NowDec 6 @Atlanta 1:00pm Buy NowDec 13 @N.Y. My only request to the fantasy gods is that this doesn't end up being a 50-50 RBBC. The feeling I have is that Westy won't be able to stay healthy and Philly will have to lean on Shady the rest of the way out.Problem being, every week he sits McCoy seems to further solidify his looks. The "sneaky" surgery kinda scares me. Any Philly homers know more about this "unknown procedure?"Brian Westbrook misses practice as gimpy ankle becomes problematic againBy Brian Murphy, Wednesday, November 11, 2009Email this • Technorati Links • Save to del.icio.us • Digg This!"Brian had some work done on his ankle, so if he doesn't go on Wednesday, that would be the cause unless something crazy [happens] with his concussion," Reid said. "He had a little bit of swelling, so he had some work done." Source: Philadelphia InquirerPhiladelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook didn't practice Wednesday, but it wasn't because of his post-concussion symptoms that we all thought were sole reason why he didn't play Sunday night against Dallas. While the fragile running back deals with that as well, head coach Andy Reid said earlier this week that Westbrook is recovering from having some "work" done on his achy right ankle. Reid said that the ankle was the reason he was held out of practice Friday before the Dallas game. It's also the cause behind why he didn't practice Wednesday. Yet, Reid said that Westbrook didn't play against Dallas "strictly because of the headache." Westbrook missed the team's week three game against Kansas City due to a sprained right ankle, which was surgically repaired in the offseason. Fantasy Analysis:I would be sick of putting up with this if I was a Westbrook owner. According to the linked article, there are no specifics, but Westbrook has been through some sort of procedure on his right ankle lately. He also had right ankle surgery in the offseason after it bothered him for most of the 2008 campaign. Westbrook is supposed to practice Thursday, but with as well as LeSean McCoy is playing, why risk it? Westbrook is not an encouraging start versus the Chargers with all of these injury concerns. But I like McCoy as at least a flex play since it seems likely at this early point in the week that Westbrook will be limited Sunday.
Westbrook did not practice on Wednesday because the Eagles pracriced inside on the turf today. They have had a strict "Westbrook doesn't practice on the turf" policy for years now, so that in and of itself is not unusual.
At this point, I think Westbrook is good to play week 10 and going forward. He seems over the effects of the concussion and the ankle is nothing new, but something he has dealt with since the preseason. The "had something done" does not refer to surgery, according to Ried, but treatment.

According to Pro Football Talk via Rotoworld, he practiced in full today...Per Profootballtalk.com, Brian Westbrook (concussion, ankle) returned to a full practice Thursday. So what's the latest on Westbrook? (asks the McCoy owner)
Walk through and practiced in full today. Waiting to see how everything feels tomorrow. If everything is good, he will go again Friday (and Sunday)Link to the info above: http://football16.myfantasyleague.com/2009...00Rotoworld6599So what's the latest on Westbrook? (asks the McCoy owner)
Good news for him. Bad news for us McCoy owners. :(Westbrook is practicing today.
Practiced in full for second straight day, listed as "probable" on injury report. Green light for Sunday. http://football16.myfantasyleague.com/2009...00Rotoworld6599trader jake said:It sounds like he'll play this Sunday and split time with McCoy.
If everything goes well...all systems go week 11 for Westbrook.
Same words, yes, but different actions. He was listed as "questionable"last week, "probable" this week. He missed practice last Friday, he practiced this Friday. Not saying he willplay with 100% certainty, because it's Westbrook. But it does look much more encouraging, IMO.Isn't this what they were saying last week up until 11:30?
Thanks for the statistical breakdown but 97 yards rushing? I just read somewhere they are ranked 26th against the run.In the game he and McCoy have both played (excluding Week 7 when Westbrook got hurt early), here's a breakdown of their touches:Week 1Westbrook 16 (1 touchdown)McCoy 10Week 2Westbrook 16McCoy 9Week 5Westbrook 8 (1 touchdown)McCoy 8 Week 6Westbrook 15McCoy 5In those four games, Westbrook has gotten 63% of the touches. Given how he's coming back from two injuries, my guess is that would be the ceiling in terms of the breakdown. I don't think it will be a 50-50 split, but I could see it being around 55-45 in favor of Westbrook as Reid doesn't overwork him in his first game back. The Chargers give up only 97 rushing yards per game. The Eagles don't run it all that well so I'm not sure that's a huge factor. I think whatever damage Westbrook (and McCoy) does will be in the passing game. I think we'll see Westbrook get 10-12 carries and 4-5 receptions with 75+ total yards and an outside shot at a touchdown.
Yup. Sorry about that. They give up 130 rushing yards a game. Thanks for the statistical breakdown but 97 yards rushing? Thanks, I was hoping McCoy would have one more week to himself. Now I have to choose between Westy (guess no McCoy now), and Lynch. If I didn't have Pierre Thomas, I'd probably just start Westy and McCoy and be done with it.(Rotoworld) Eagles coach Andy Reid confirmed Friday that he fully anticipates Brian Westbrook (probable, ankle) playing in Week 10. Analysis: No surprise deactivations this time. "Playing," Reid responded when asked about his running back's status. "I'm feeling a lot better," Westbrook added. "I'm ready to go." He makes for a quality RB2 play Sunday at San Diego.

In Sept. they declined a $7M option bonus to extend his deal from 2011-2013 and he is owed $7M next year. His cap hit for 2010 is $10M so the Eagles would save $4M if they cut/traded him. He either reworks the deal or he's gone.May be a little off topic here but where does Wstbrook's value stand in a keeper/dynasty? Anyone think there is a chance that westbrook has a chance to be let go or traded? It seems that the Eagles don't have a problem trading or releasing guys who are still productive but older.
