While our master bathroom is only accessible through our bedroom, due to the layout and the floor plan, it actually abuts our main entrance/foyer and there are ducts that run in the wall between them for our HVAC system. Because of this, you can easily hear any sounds from the master bathroom right by the front door and entrance way and into our living room even though the room is otherwise not close. Needless to say, not ideal.
Have any of you guys run into this and what kind of solution did you come across? I'm wondering if putting some kind of foam or insulation in the ducts themselves that would dampen any sounds but still allow air flow might work. If so, how easily is this done?
