Alright I know we have some HVAC guys around, and here's my issue -
With this heating season it seems like my thermostat is not cycling my furnace off when the temp reaches the set point. For instance when it is set at 69, it will run up to 70 and continue heating when the thermostat is reading 70 for several minutes before cycling off. I don't recall having this issue in the past. I know these things aren't instantaneous, but i've not seen it run beyond the set point this way before, it would turn off within a minute or so of hitting the set point.
I've replaced the batteries twice in the past month. The first time because the thermostat wasn't turning the furnace off at all, it was up to 74 (set 69) when I noticed. The 2nd time was to try to solve this delayed cycle issue. Do I need to contemplate a new thermostat at this point? The wiring for it does not have a constant power wire - how easy is that to add?
