I don't think that a person has be particularly partisan to conclude the Mueller report failed to prove collusion, but I do think it takes a special set of lenses to believe it exonerated Trump, and someone who honestly believes that is going to be particularly difficult to bring back towards reality

Listen, I understand that NOT getting Trump is inconceivable to you but the fact of the matter remains: you didn't get him.  Getting a bunch of stooges on process crimes instead is a unsatisfying result but it allows you to point and say, "See we got people!". 

The Mueller report is akin to getting a bunch of street thugs instead of the head of the crime family and declaring victory.

And Obama began the transition to Trump almost immediately afterwards. Compare that to how Trump behaved after the 2020 election and how he handled the transition to Biden.
