hypothetical: if the Raiders take AP then who do the Lions pick? (1 Viewer)

They won't pick AD but if for the sake of argument they do, the Lions would still pick Joe Thomas OT Wisconsin. He is the only smart pick at #2. so unless they trade down he is the pick.

I don't understand the question. Or maybe I'm just looking for a point that isn't there.

Is this under the assumption that the Lions want Peterson, or Russell?

I was getting the impression from the media that the Lions now want Quinn...so if Russel is sitting there at the 2 spot then who will they take...

Lions will do one of two things. Per Mlive.com, they signed OL Edwin Mulitallo and Zach Pillar today. So I think that Joe Thomas is out. So they'll either draft Quinn or trade down. I think that they're blowing smoke and want to trade down. They need help at the CB position and at LB. Rumors here in the D have them fitting with the Falcons very well. It'll drop them to 8 and allow them to pickup at least a 2nd, which ATL has two. Other considerations could be involved as well. And in the second, if they want a QB, they're really high on Drew Stanton from MSU. Just my two cents. Trying to figure out what the hell Millen is gonna do is like trying to figure out where Hoffa is. :tumbleweed:

While I like this idea, does it work out on the chart? IF somehow Calvin Johnson was there at #2 and Atlanta traded up for him, I would think it possible Jenkins or White could be involved. I would like Jenkins as the #2, move Furrey to the slot (or Jenkins could take the slot).

[wild speculation] 1.02 (CJ) for 1.08 (Gaines Adams), 2nd (Stanton) and Jenkins? [/wild speculation]

I would like muy mucho.

I think it would be sad to see Calvin Johnson go to the Falcons. He looks like he could be a phenomonal talent. I'd like to see him go to a team with a QB that can get him the ball. Vick is a pitiful excuse for a QB. I think he is never going to get better. I'd like to see what this kid can do with a solid QB throwing him the ball.

 I haven't found anywhere (including mlive.com) that the Lions signed Mulitallo or Pillar on any web site. and even if they did I wouldn't expect anything other then Joe Thomas or a trade. Anyone else would be a mistake... IMHO! Why get Brady Quinn? All they would do is ruin his chances as being a great QB. They must have a good O-Line before a QB!

Read it. Its the Lions insider: http://blog.mlive.com/lionsinsider/. Update on there says that if they got stuck with the 2nd pick, Kowalski believes that the Lions would go CJ or Thomas. I agree with not grabbing a QB. We have Kitna as a stopgap and McCown could develop under Martz' wing. I still think that they are gonna trade down. I like the premise, but Millen with extra draft picks is very dangerous! lol

Why would the Raiders pick Adrian Deterson?
ok you can put Joe Blow at the number one pick then....it isn't the piont...the piont is who would the Lions pick if both Russell and Quinn are there
Gotcha.I don't think anyone can say with confidence.Gun to my head:Joe Thomas, but I think they will want to trade down.I don't think Mike Martz wants a 1st round QB. I think he thinks his offense turns grocery baggers into MVP's.
