I am 0-2 and still like my team (1 Viewer)

Sweet Love

IBL Representative
I am in a 12 team, Keep 3, 1/2 PPR league and I thought I had a pretty good team going into the year. I have Bulger as my QB and in a league where I can start up to 4 RBs (2 Flex positions) I have S-Jax, Ronnie Brown, Barber III and Chris Brown. Even my WRs are serviceable with Fitz, Reggie Brown, Cotchery and Mason and I have Cooley as my TE to boot. All of this looks good...on paper. Well, I am 0-2 and have the lowest score BOTH weeks thus far...lol.

The vultures have started to circle and everyone wants to me a Galloway-type for Fitz, or they package three 30+ year old or unproven players wanting S-Jax in exchange. I know there have been a ton of threads on Sell high/Buy low, but I did not see one about team management in a situation where you feel your team may come through, but do not want to miss the boat on trades or the playoffs. Also, I am curious what people are doing in Keeper leagues vs. redraft.

Please note: This is not meant to be a "what should I do with my specific players" post, but since I have so many underachievers they may come up in conversation.

Seems like a team that is better than low points every week, but honestly not a juggernaut by any stretch. Obviously it will help if Jackson gets going, but Bulger, Jackson, Barber, Fitzgerald and Cooley are the only standouts to me, with Ronnie Brown and Cotchery as promising younger players. Like you said, you can't give players away, but on the other hand, you might want to try to acquire high draft choices if things don't improve rapidly.I am even concerned about Fitzgerald given the de-emphasis of the pass so far in Arizona this season. He'll get better, but I don't see him as top 10 this year and he might barely make top 20.As a more general statement, in a keep 3 format, anything beyond 3 is expendable when the season looks lost, but you have to decide when to actually enter rebuilding mode. I don't think any offer you receive would pry Jackson from my team, however.

You may want to put your team in your signature.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll do that when I get a chance. If your Studs keep performing poorly, when do you think the bubble will burst and you will get little for them in return? Week 4, 5?

I'm 0-2, have faced the top points against due to facing WR's & D's going off for 25-30 points against me, and have never missed the playoffs in the one league that's happening in.

It's not time to panic, but I need my weak spot players to get untracked.

Unfortunately I'm 0-2 largely due to LT and Brees and crappy WR's. Hope is not lost-I think I have a solid team. I've locked up Plax in a trade for my Ravens DST+VJax, and I plan on using Minny + Houston DST's based on matchups. I was only really hurting at WR...maybe TE but in our league TE's don't matter much unless you have Gates (although Winslow has been solid so far this year).

I think my ADP + LT combo is going to be killer this year.

Worst case I can always move LT for a RB1+WR1 and try to salvage my season. I've already been offered T. Henry + 85 for LT despite his slow start.

The #1 team in our league is a full-on guppie. He got Brady, Moss, Pats DST, Gore, A. Johnson, and Gates. His RB2 is Betts and he's still kicking butt and taking names. I'm sure he'll slow down this week with AJ out. There's nothing quite like getting owned by a guppie. Just a lucky draft IMHO but it's still early yet to be handing him the championship.

I looked at this team after I drafted and laughed... figuring I woudln't lose a game all year.

This is a 10 team PPR league yet is somehow 0-2

12 team league, also in the "3rd highest scoring team through 2 weeks but 0-2 boat", with both losses to the only higher scorers in the league.

Gotta get my QB rotation and WR3 option fixed, but I like my chances to rebound.

Just in general and probably more related to redraft versus dynasty. Too many people love the players they drafted (that is why they drafted them), and wait until it is too late to make a move and the season is lost. Don't make bad trades but if your team starts out slowly and you realize maybe it isn't as great as you had hoped you need to start making smart changes, maybe take some calculated risks and see if you can right the ship.

I'm 0-2 and have absolutely gotten crushed in my first two weeks. Week 1 it was R.Moss and Minnesota's defense that did me in and in week 2 it was Palmer and Lewis going nuts.

I like my team, but the next 3 weeks are crucial for my post season dreams.

Yup... returning champ in a dynasty... 0-2 McNabb, LT2, SJax, Gore, Evans... IDP's are stacked. It'll come around eventually.

Sounds familiar. My points against is 390. There is only one other team above 330. To the original poster, this team has Bulger and SJax, and is a keep 3. Gotta win a few here coming up.

12 team redraft

What the hell kind of league are you a part of where you can get Gore and Rudi?

I wouldn't be concerned about being 0-2. I always say that you're lucky to win week 1 no matter how good you are--there are too many unknowns in week 1. Things have been crazy with some outrageous QB and WR scores thus far which I'm sure will calm down. Also, many stud running backs have faltered thus far (LT, SJax, LJ) and they will come around.

S. Jax underperforming is killing me. Despite that I'm fielding a middle of the pack team in my 14 teamer.

2 points in week 1 and 4 in week 2 I'd be 2-0. If we had PPR i'd be 1-1 and 2-0 if every yard with decimal scoring. Instead we get 2pts every 25 rush/rec yrds, 2 per 50 passing. It's gotta change nxt season or I'm out.

:(

You need to look at your players and decide if they will suck all year or just had bad weeks so far. A couple of years ago I had a really good team but was 1-5. I traded Willie Parker (keeper) for Chad Johnson (non-keeper) because I thought I had a good team despite my record. I won it all that year as my players all started playing well. Almost the same situation last year and I finished near the bottom of the league because I ignored a few warning signs on some of my guys.

I wouldn't let SJax go anywhere but, like someone else said, if I could get value for Fitz right now I would have to consider it as I don't see him performing to his draft spot.

10 team ppr, 0-2

*2 weeks in a row I played the team that scored the most points for the week. I am 3rd in scoring...frustrating.

START 1

Leinart or Schaub

START 2

Cadillac Williams

LaMont Jordan

Adrian Peterson (MINN)

Marion Barber

Julius Jones

Maurice Jones Drew

START 3

Steve Smith

TJ housh

Donald Driver

Santana Moss

I NEED TO WIN THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!

I swear to you that last year I had the best team in the league. Every week I wound up playing a higher scoring team. By the end of the season I had the third highest scoring team in the league, yet I was 4-9.

Moral of the story - maybe it is not your team it is the matchups.

I'm 0-2 but could be 2-0 if I played Jeff Reed instead of Olindo Mare both weeks.

QB (1): Roethlisberger, D.Anderson (dropped Pennington)

RB (2): FWP, Portis, T.Bell, Cadillac, D.Ward (dropped D.Rhodes)

WR/TE (3): Chad Johnson, Cal Johnson, L.Evans, B.Marshall, Jacoby Jones (dropped Cooley)

K: (1): Reed, Mare

Def (1): Jacksonville, Oakland

How do you like this 0-2 dynasty team? 12 team 24 man rosters. I didn't list every player. Last year I ran away with the title. This year I may struggle to make the playoffs.

Drew Brees, Mark Bulger

This is my main money league. In this league, QBs always go early.

5 years running I've waited on my QB and loaded up on RBs and WRs and have had terrible luck

(e.g. I took Alexander last year over LT) :bowtie:

Here's how the draft went this year:

1. LaDainian Tomlinson

2. Larry Johnson

3. Steven Jackson

4. Reggie Bush

5. Peyton Manning

6. Shaun Alexander

7. Willie Parker

8. Joseph Addai

9. Frank Gore

10. Laurence Maroney

11. Brian Westbrook

12. Tom Brady

Round 2

1. Ronnie Brown

2. Carson Palmer

3. Vince Young

4. Rudi Johnson

5. Drew Brees

6. Matt Hasselbeck

7. Donovan McNabb

8. Willis McGahee

9. Tony Romo

10. Maurice Jones

11. Travis Henry

12. Thomas Jones

Seems I'm still cursed.

2 of my 1st 5 picks are now out (Jacobs and A.Johnson)

and I played the owner that had Palmer last week.

 :P

12 team keep-5 league, my team is 0-2 and 10th in scoring despite my starting lineup of:

QB: V.Young

RB: L.Tomlinson, S.Jackson (I thought these guys were going to carry me to a title! )

WR: RoyWilliams, L.Evans, L.Coles

TE: V.Davis

KR: Gould

DE: Pitt/Jax

Ditto for me. In the first league in my sig I have played High scorer first two weeks. First individual had Moss and Romo, second had S. Smith and B. Edwards. My team was rated as one of the strongest after the draft. I have only finished out of the money 2 out of the last 8 seasons. I have a feeling that my team will turn it around though BUT I am trying to trade some RB depth and one of my good receivers for someone like AJ, CJ, or S. Smith (Rejections so far). If anyone had a good draft with underachieving players, wait it out until the bye weeks and I bet we will be .500 by then. Good Luck!

I love my dyansty team that I built over the last eight years...but this year my team is off to a slow start. Here is my starting lineup:

(start 2 QB)

Manning

Leinart (use to start Vick here! lol)

(start 2 RB)

LT

S Jackson

(Flex)

McAllister

(start 4 WR)

Harrison

Driver

S Moss

Branch

(start 1 TE or 2 if you only start 3 WR)

Witten

(start 2 K)

Elam

Kasay

(start 2 Def)

Steelers

Dolphins

As for cutting bait on players, sometimes you just have to wait out the storm. I keep thinking there is something I can do to fix it, but I think all of these players have more potenital than they have shown the first two week. I have had slow starts in the past, and usually by week 3, my players start kicking it into full gear. If my running game gets going, and my WRs get some TD production, I am hoping the first two weeks this season were just a fluke.

I haven't gotten any crazy trade offers yet...and being a dynasty league, it is not worth loosing value prematurely in a panic move to start winning games.

2-0 with LT stinking up the lineup. I'm happy. Go Gates, Welker and Minnesota D!
I'm 2-0 and 1-1 with LT2 in the leagues I have him. I'm sure most of the guys in this forum really wants to know my record in my dynasty leagues

I thought this team was decent for my first year. Something's not working though, I'm 0-2.

Drew Brees

Reggie Brown

Deion Branch

LaDainian Tomlinson

Willis McGahee

Chris Cooley

Jerious Norwood

L.J. Smith

Tony Romo

DeAngelo Williams

Isaac Bruce

Derrick Mason

edit: i'm playing in 6 phenoms leagues this year, and the guy with LT2 is 0-2 in 4 of them.

I FEEL YOUR PAIN,check these teams...

Three years ago I drafted at the 9th slot of 12..lost first 4 games..results won it all..ever since then I never give up.

I am in the league with Sweet Love. I have been 1 of the owners targeting S Jax. I started the year with Gore, Caddy and L Evans as my 3 keepers. Currently sitting at 0-2 and sitting middle of the pack in points

We start 2 RB's, 3 WR and 2 Flex

Roster as of today :

QB: McNabb, A Smith, Garcia

RB: F Gore, LenDale White, Adrian Peterson (R- Min)

WR: Chad Johnson, Marvin Harrison, Hines Ward, Nate Burleson, Rodyell Williams, Demetrius Williams

TE: Ben Watson

PK: Crosby

Def/ST: Pitt

I recently acquired Marvin, Ward and LenDale White for Fred Taylor, Lee Evans and Joey Galloway. The other team is also 0-2 and he wanted to shake up his roster.

As for his reason for the post.... When do you cut bait and when do you sit tight?

I cut bait on Lee Evans.

I won it last year with Westy, Gore, Brees, Evans and Coles.

I'm 0-2 in my main 12 team keeper league, but I have scored the most total points thus far (played the high scoring team both weeks).

My starting lineup is....

Tom Brady

Frank Gore

Jamal Lewis

Tory Holt

Santonio Holmes

Wes Welker

Heath Miller

Shayne Graham

bench...

Brandon Jacobs

Ladell Betts

Michael Turner

Devery Henderson

Drew Bennett

Patrick Crayton

Gostkowski

I faced Romo week one, and Palmer week two.

I'm 0-2, but I'm not making any panic moves, yet. I like my team.

0-2 in PPR. I think alot of people in my situation have the combo of Evans and Maroney. WHen 2 of your top 4 picks go like this, you are going to be 0-2. I was pumped about my team. That with TJ, Henry, A. Green, S. Moss, Galloway, Big Ben and Watson. I have also been the most scored on team this season. Its been rough. I've been trying to move players but to no avail. I feel good about my team but I'm in the hole now.

ETA: we go by best overall record, no playoffs, which adds to my worry.
