I am a waiver wire junky. (1 Viewer)

I confess to the FF community my transgressions from draft day. I have been milking the wire in a fleeting effort to recover from that debacle. Good luck to anyone else in this boat. 3-4 but still alive!!!

You don't need to be losing to be a waiver wire junkie. I'm in solid contention in my 12-team league, and I work that wire like a crack whore looking for a fix!

I've made 27 free-agent moves this year, not counting this week yet.
Same here, on a top heavy dynasty roster full of waiver wire fodder. The rankings say I don't deserve to be 4-3, but it's been fun winning some unlikely contests against better teams with other people's table scraps.

I have 36 WW pickups/drops so far this year, as well as 4 trades... I've also been involved in every trade to take place in my league so far. It's a dynasty league so mostly I've been trading WW pickups for picks in next year's draft.

One downside of being a WW junkie is dropping players (or trading them) and regretting it.

I dropped Forsett after week 3 since I thought it was RBBC and he's been dominant since then.

I traded away Vereen and Bradshaw and both of the RBs who were sharing carries with them went down. Could live to regret both a lot.

nothing like that rush of waking up after a waivers run and seeing who you got.

Then the review of who everybody else got

Nothing worse that that feeling you get in your gut when some player that you've been keeping an eye on,, but can't make space to add, gets picked up by another team. You spend the next few weeks hoping he busts or is mediocre at best...

I have already made 55 moves in one redraft. 4-3, lost two in a row because of Eli and Cutlers games of suckiness. Short benches, so you need to stay active. Its not about how many moves you make, its about the players you dont cut and the ones you keep.

I've held on to a surprising amount of players. When I finally break free from the shackles of this Patterson Hostage Crisis, I'll probably end up making 2-3 more per week, but as of right now I only have 15 moves with only a 33% draft day turnover.

I am like a filter. I pick up a player and drop them, then they explode. Follow me like I am dropping bread crumbs!

My WW pickups have sucked this year. Usually this is where I dominate. Now I have barely any $$ left and still tons of holes to fill.

Now imagine you were in a league that limits F/A moves to 3 per owner... :headsplode:

Hi, my name is NREC34 and I spent 2/3 of my faab on Allen Hurns and Lorenzo Taliaferro. Neither of whom ever started a game for me or is on my team today.

Lamar Miller, Branden Oliver, Eddie Lacy, Alfred Morris, Ahmad Bradshaw, Andre Williams

Demaryius Thomas, Mike Wallace, Alshon Jeffery, Sammy Watkins

I know what you're saying. I try really hard to keep at least one spot flexible to play the waiver wire game. This week it was dropping Joseph Randle (lotto ticket) for Bryce Brown.

Cam Newton, Matt Ryan

Jamaal Charles, Gio Bernard, Brandon Oliver, Isaiah Crowell, Knile Davis, Bryce Brown

Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, Mike Wallace, Michael Floyd

Travis Kelce

Broncos D

Justin "mother" Tucker

This is its own discussion. The feeling of "I need to be more active" vs. "No I don't, because this team is a monster that I now just need to monitor." I have finally reached that point with a 12-team, keep 3 short bench team. I think it's almost harder to resist making a move just to make a move and feel active, vs. harvesting the fruits of earlier labor of WW churn. I rationalize it as harvesting winning earlier WW runs in the season.

Once you rationalize it as where you want to be with your team, you just need to monitor situations. Worst case, you've built depth you can trade if disaster hits. Say no to churn for the sake of churn once your team is where you want it to be. Injuries happen, and you're probably more ready to deal with it than you probably think.
