the only difficult part of the pregnancy and first 3 months of a child on your end will be the complete insanity of your wife.

If you can make it past that and the lack of sleep you'll be ok.

Hope you have many many thousands saved up because the amount of "stuff" that moms think you need to raise a child in 2014 is absolutely insane.

Maybe I'm lucky but now that mine are 7 and 5, sleeping until 7:30 happens regularly. The 7 year old takes care of himself until we get up and the 5 year old sleeps until 7:30 in lieu of daytime naps.

Yeah, we are getting close to this. My 4 year old still wants to wake up at 6 or 6:30, but she's getting better. The older boys would sleep longer if she would actually sleep a little longer.

Only took 8 years to be able to sleep until 6:30.

 
Congrats and Good luck. Make friends with your coffee maker and say goodbye to your money and sanity. You'll never have anything else in your life that simultaneously brings you so much joy and angst.

 
Do the math on formula. All i ever heard was how expensive the pre made stuff was and how you needed to buy powder and mix your own. The difference for the pre made stuff at Costco was pennies... well worth it.

If you are really getting older you should seriously consider whether or not to have kids. Studies are linking older men to increases in the chance for developmental issues in children. Not sure how old you are but if it's over 50 you might want to think seriously about it.

I am over 50 but was not trying. I have faith in God in what will happen.
