I am starting Ben Obomanu over... (1 Viewer)

Posted this in another thread but then started thinking about it and thought it deserved one of these threads on its own.

I will be playing Obo. He is to me a lock a for 60 - 80 yards with upside of 110 and 1 TD.

I love playing people like this as my last flex player. It gives you a lock of some average points instead of a complete flop and a decent chance at some upside. In fact, I'm playing Obo over Steve Smith (not a huge surprise).

In my league he has 9.6, 8.7, 14.7 over last 3 weeks. I think he'll be the number 1 receiver this week and he should excel.

If you watch on NFL GameRewind he can play and go up for jump balls etc.

Who are you starting him over?

I'm rolling with Obama with Flowers out.....

Benching R.Moss or S.Moss if out

Worried about Stokley here though

Can't decide whether or not to start him over James Jones or Amendola. I'm leaning towards doing it.
I'm left deciding between Jones and Obomanu also. I'm 50-50 at the moment, hooray for waffling!
Jones has the better matchup, but he is only the W3 on his team. At least Obomanu will likely be the WR1 on his team tomorrow. Whether that translates into more production I don't know....

This just in, nobody has picked up Hagan in my league. Can't decide if he is better than either of these two...

Personally I would avoid all Giants for now. O-line in shambles, Running game in flux, just doesn't seem that smart of a play to me. I think Obomanu has a lot more upside this week.

I'm starting him in place of BMW. Since I lost BMW, Marshall and Nicks all last week, I have no healthy WR's to start him over. :hot:

Thinking of flexing him over Blount (PPR)
Thinking the same thing, but wondering if this is overthinking.Definitely feel like Blount is heading for a 60 yard type of game, but he certainly could punch it in.Obomanu could get 6-90-1, but he could also just completely disappear.KY

Assuming Mike Williams is out, I'm currently going with him over Hines Ward, LeGarrette Blount, and Beanie Wells. It's a PPR, so Blount and Wells aren't worth that much...and Hines Ward has been burning me for about a month now.

me too, starting him over Hines... for the same reason.

Probably nobody. Like many others I also have Ward and James Jones in the mix as well. Problem is they both play early. Something just doesn't sit right with the whole Mike Williams thing. Reading between the lines with Carroll's comments it sure seems like Williams will give it a go. At the end of the day I will likely go with the old wily veteran Ward. He's had a couple stinkers since Ben has been back but I can't imagine that his career just took a sudden nosedive in a matter of a few weeks. If I had the luxury of waiting to see if Williams is definitely out it might very well be different but you gotta play the hand you're dealt.

With that last pass he is at your 6-9 point floor. Now lets see if we can go for the upside...

Done....

who the heck is this guy?
No one. The 87-yarder came against a busted coverage; nothing impressive on his part. The 50-yarder was a solid catch, but against KC's 5th CB, who injured himself on the play to boot. Back to your bench next week, I'd hope. Otherwise you're in trouble.

Started him over Deion Branch, and got to watch Branch's huge game on Thanksgiving. Glad Obomanu had a huge game. :lmao: :lmao:

I started him over Hines Ward, so it wasn't a huge upgrade (27 points vs. 18) but it was fun to have everyone make fun of me for starting him over Ward earlier in the day, only to be able to rub it in their face after the big 87 yard touchdown.

4% owned in all Yahoo leagues; 2% started in all CBS leagues. Didn't have to sit anyone special for him (Jahvid Best and Ryan Mathews out, James Jones and Nate Washington as other options), but picked him up and played him at the last minute on a hunch. I'll be bragging about that one for years.

I think Obomanu has earned the WR2 slot for now. If Mike Williams is back it might help him get open a little easier. Seattle has a fairly light schedule.

Stokley and Butler got a significant amount of targets. I wouldn't be so quick to pronounce him WR2 yet.But it's certainly a possibility.

17 targets the last 3 weeks and 14 receptions counting for about 300 yards and 2 TDs...I understand what you are saying but the Seahawks are desperate right now.
