I cut the chord with AP-- and I feel surprisingly ok! (1 Viewer)

Not me, but the AP owner in my league tried to get league movements to allow suspended players to be put on IR (not voted in) and then to freeze suspended players for the year if the original owner released them (also not voted in). He finally begrudgingly cut the cord too.

I dealt him when the news came out for L.Green in a 1.5ppr for TE 16 team IDP league.

Figured I was getting nothing from AP this year and Gates has a huge salary for next, so could possibly get cut.

well, he's got a hearing next wednesday, so I'm not doing anything 'til that.

how do we go from 2 games for knocking some chick out to a season for this??

I dropped him from two teams a week ago.

I'm just glad I traded him for decent return after week 2 in a Yahoo Pro league.

Anyone still holding AP is wasting a roster space. This guy is not seeing the field this year. Time to accept it and move on. Wasted first round pick.

I've held him for this long. Would be pointless not to see what happens at hearing next week. Heat has died down a lot. Even more for Ray Rice thing too. Still slim chance he plays, but that slim is better than the RB at the bottom of my bench.

this. And im sure SOMEONE would have traded something of value instead of dropping him

Dropped him this week. I really need him to come back thi season to help my team and I just don't see that happening.

I put him on the trade block in my league and told everyone to make me a cheap offer. Didn't get a single offer.

well. That sucks.

I picked him up after someone dropped him. Holding until after his Oct 8th arraignment. A guilty plea could result in a quick probation sentence. At that point if the NFL decides to suspend with games inactive counting as served he could return this year. A stretch, admittedly, but worth waiting til next week to see how he pleads.

Generally, I have better luck when I talk to / email / text a specific person about a trade rather than "shouting from the mountain" to the entire league.

Dropped him two weeks ago in a league I can only roster 4 RBs and start 2. Couldn't navigate the bye's. Nobody has picked him up either.

I've got two key dates I'll hold him through.

October 8th as many have mentioned and for the reasons brought up.

October 28th being the other, which is the trade deadline. Keeping in mind he's not been suspended by the NFL and I highly doubt a plea of not guilty would lead to a suspension. Just a matter of if another NFL team believes they can take he heat and I read a report the other day that if he was put on the trade block other teams are interested. Both options are long shots but if a contending team suffers a few injuries at the RB spot I don't think it's impossible.

Good for you.

I dropped him a couple weeks ago in a league that we can only have 4 RBs on our roster and no one has picked him up. I may see if I can pick him up this week for minimum bid with his hearing pending.

No use keeping him. His attorney has said they will not accept any plea deal, so it will go to court in 2015. The Vikings/NFL have agreed to pay his 14m salary this year. Vikings cut him next year as they will not owe him any of his money remaining on his contract. Why would he cut a deal and be suspended without pay at the 14M rate(granted it might only be 4 games). He will never see that kind of money again at 30 years old. He will play next year in the 3-4 m rate, and then take his suspension at that pay range.
