I guess I screwed up waivers (and this post) (1 Viewer)

Not a good time for Fantasy Football websites. Has anyone else had a problem this week with processed waivers on MFL?

Our salary cap/contract league runs blind bid waivers on Weds evening. I had 9 players ranked and bid amounts entered. My first two players ranked were processed fine, But for some reason the player listed in the 9th and final round was awarded to me. Ignoring 3 other players at the same position and ranked in higher rounds. It's as if it processed rounds 1 and 2, then skipped to round 9.

Other owners are claiming errors as well. But, MFL doesn't show bid amounts even with Commish lockout turned off. So, no way to know or fix it. I sent a help ticket to MFL techs and they logged into our league last night, but I haven't heard back from them.

As commissioner you can go and look at previously processed claims and it will show the activity.

Yes, but I can't see the amount that was bid only that a waiver claim was made for a player. Unless I am missing something, I just checked again this morning.

Since this is a salary cap league, we are using remaining cap as blind bidding dollars.

You set up a 9 round algorthym to add/drop as many as 9 players? That's insane. Too bad about the MFL issue, but ideally, you should put a tier of 3 guys in one round, another 3 guys in tier 2, and third round for tier 3. You do it right and you get the best ranked 3 guys off waivers in any given week. 9 rounds of free agent bidding leads to these kinds of issues, and I've seen it happen before. Any given week, a strong team does no more than 3 solid transactions. And then take a chance on getting the scraps when free waivers opens up.

let me tell you brohans a story from way back back in the day we used to have windshield wipers on cars that were run by vaccum hoses off of the manifold so when you were flying down the highway your wipers were going crazy but if you were going up a hill or just idling well not so much if you know what i mean well eventually they put in the electric motors and then everyone griped about how hey these new fancy motors are hard to work on and they break and they use up to much power and so on but then you would get back in an old car with vacume hoses and it was like oh yeah that is why even though i complain about them i love those electric wipers so do not be the guy complaining about windshield wipers and take it to the bank brohans

I know what you are saying, but being a 16 team league, with full IDP, and all but about 4 teams still being in the playoff race, things are highly competitive. I wasn't trying to add 9 players, I was only trying to pick up 3. I wanted to Sendejo and Samuel, but I needed a DT since I have one on a bye and one is hurt (Guion)

Also, this is not FCFS waivers and teams are not awarded players based on record. It is all done by highest bidder. (if two teams bid the same amount, player is awarded to the team that submitted the waiver first) If you only bid on 3 players each week, you run the risk of getting zero.

Here is how my waivers looked. (Round 1)

  • Add Sendejo, Andrew MIN S and drop Ross, Brandion OAK S
  • Add Samuel, Asante ATL CB and drop Joseph, Johnathan HOU CB
  • Add Thurmond, Walter SEA CB and drop Joseph, Johnathan HOU CB
  • Add Vellano, Joe NEP DT and drop Guion, Letroy MIN DT
  • Add Edwards, Dwan CAR DT and drop Guion, Letroy MIN DT
  • Add Paea, Stephen CHI DT and drop Guion, Letroy MIN DT
  • Add Frey, Isaiah CHI CB and drop Joseph, Johnathan HOU CB
  • Add Keo, Shiloh HOU S and drop Ross, Brandion OAK S
  • Add Knighton, Terrance DEN DT and drop Guion, Letroy MIN DT
Round two would look the same, but it started with Samuel. I was awarded Sendejo, Samuel, and Knighton. I should have been awarded Vellano. (or Edwards, or Paea) before Knighton.

Louis CK agrees.

I responded on our MFL site. Waivers processed correctly.

ETA - I should probably explain here, also. MFL blind bid waivers do not process in rounds, they process by bid amount.

Also - you can see the waivers with bid amounts here, KC: http://football17.myfantasyleague.com/2013/processed_waivers?L=20234
Thanks. I responded on the message board. Still not certain they were processed correctly. But, I understand what you are saying.

That shows the amounts of processed waivers. It won't show me what another team bid. Another owner is claiming that he had a higher bid submitted for a player and wasn't awarded the player. I can't see that amount that he bid.

Round (or Group) Franchise Player Added Player Dropped Original Waiver Request It shows the amount and if a player was added or not.

Yes, I see it now.

So based on what is being said. We only need to submit one round of waivers? I don't believe this to be correct. That may be the case if you only want one player.

MFL just responded with only this? it appears that this was a single bid in round 9 which is why it is awarded:

I assumed it work like predrafting. You rank players per round. If a player at the top of your list is gone, it moves to the next player.

Thanks for the links Launch. The first one seems a little clearer, but the second one includes $ amounts.

The second link kind of describes what I did. The MFL system processed rounds 1 and 2, then skipped to round 9. Again, we are assuming that this is because the player in round 9 had a higher bid amount than the rest.

I also believe I am looking at the process being run in some type of order. I should stop that. Waivers are processed in a "shotgun blast" style. Taking the highest $ figure first and working down. Even though It looks like it did round one and two, it actually did my round 9 submission first.

Thanks to all who helped.
