I hate Ron Jaworski (1 Viewer)

JAWS!!! The Guy is captain obvious and rehashes every play like there is some in depth anylisis that we all missed, but its always something stupid like, "they blitzed two, he could only block one so he had to hold the other." The replay obviously showed us that thats exactly what occured, we don't need his annoying comments on every single play.

You're going to get killed by nearly everyone on this topic.Beginning with me.

Ron Jaworski might be stupid, but he probably knows how to use spell check on his computer when he's sending out a message calling someone else stupid.

Personally, I like Jaws.

But I can see how others might not.

Heck, I even liked Madden.

Now Tony Cornhole...Corncobb or Cornwhateverhisnamewas? Him I couldn't stand.

He was a delight until Gruden hit the booth and made him look obsolete...would much rather hear what Gruden thinks on a play than what Jaws does. Now Jaws on PTI(5 good minutes) is great, NFL Edge Match up terrific...MNF booth playing second fiddle to a much more knowledgeable Gruden...not so much.

You're in the shark pool board. You know more football then the average viewer. Jaws does a good job catering to the average fan and the fan trying to learn the basic intricacies. I take him over Gruden's everyone is great bull####.

:goodposting: RONNIE BROWN IS ELECTRIFYING!!!!!...........said after a 3 yard run :hophead:

Jaws is really good.

What people on this board fail to understand is that lots of casual fans don't understand football very well and need more clarification than many people onthi board. Madden was very good at that in hi sprime, and I know a lot of people around here hated him.

My simple question to the OP is where did you learn about football. If the answer is something other than "it just popped into my head one day" or "by osmosis", then I suggest you figure out why you don't hate those who taught you more about football.

I will give you a hint, it comes down to teaching you versus teaching others.

I lost all respect for Jaworski after he said Dan Marino isn't in his top 10 quarterbacks of all time
If Jaws said that, he is an idiot.Marino is easily in the top 5.Imo, he's in the top 3.
I doubt he ever said that but Marino isn't in the top 3 either. You're letting all those Lombardi trophies blind you. Oh wait...
11 on offense 11 on defense.
Not everyone can be Peyton Manning I suppose.

What are you trying to say? Do you have a point you are trying to make?

Do you? Also where did Jaws allegedly say what he said?
Believe whatever you want to. Why would i come on here and make that up? Again, do you have a point?

All I hear is, "Jon, I'm going to argue with you even though I know I'm wrong, because I have an inferiority complex and deep down know that you know more about football than me."

Name 3 QB's better than Dan Marino.
Johnny UnitasPeyton ManningJoe MontanaJohn ElwayBret FavreThere is 5, Tom Brady will be 6. Now what was that about me being a parody? What's going on there do I know you?

Stop hijacking my thread.... also Marino was 8-10 in the playoffs with a 77 passer rating, 0 super bowls. Is he top 10, yes, top 5, maybe #5 at best, not even sniffing top 3.

Stats are for dummies. You're better than that, sell.

Marino was out there by himself for much of his career.

Oh, and your thread kinda sucked before we improved it.

Your pretty smart, stats are for dummies, I agree. Marino has the stats, he does not have the W's. I'd probably put him right at #5, maybe 6.

I think its pretty simple, Brady actually is better than Marino. By the way I am over 30.

You are either a Pats homer or you are one of the (edit to continue posting on these boards) ever to walk the Earth.

"the oldest m/fers?" if I read your post right. LOL. I am actually neither. Marino was great, but winning has to mean something. Cool Tom Brady has the edge in my opinion.

Somebody needs to convince Jaws that less is more. Really. He needs to boil down what he has to say to its essence. Even J6P does not need to hear a lot of the "Jaws boilerplate" every time he opens his mouth. It's a pity that it seems he's responding to Gruden by becoming more verbose because they have a nice booth that could be really great if he'd shut up just a little more.

Brady needs to keep doing what he's been doing for another 8 more years before he begins to approach being able to hold Dan Marino's jockstrap. Yes, I'm also a Dolphins fan. Deal with it.

Simply amazing. I really could care less who is the greatest. When you say "deal with it" deal with what? my opinion was Brady is better and yours is Marino is better, big deal. It doesnt amount to anything. If it makes you feel better, then Dan Marino is the greatest QB who ever played. Sorry if my statement upset you.

:goodposting: Tom Brady benefits from playing in a system. To quote the great Bill Walsh, "Joe Montana played in a system, Marino was a system."

Pretty sure Walsh said this:"Joe Montana plays excellent in this system. But Dan Marino, that guy is a system."

Most feel that quote was taken out of context as Walsh was just trying to be polite.

Walsh also had these things to say about Montana:

"The minute I saw Joe move, there was no question in my mind that he was the best I'd seen,"

Walsh thought Elway was a better than Marino:

"Dan will be considered one of the greatest forward passers in the history of the game," says Bill Walsh, who knows more about quarterbacking than your average fan. "John Elway is one of the great all-around athletes to play the game." Walsh favors Elway slightly, on the basis of his better mobility and ability to pull off the spontaneous

Marino was the best passer of all-time, no argument there. Also there are hundreds of threads on this so I will stop now since regardless of whatever we throw out there, it will eventually come down to personal preference and opinion. I am of the school that a QB has to win Super Bowls to be the greatest ever, it is probably the only position in sports where winning trumps everything else. I grew up watching Marino, I think he was one of the best I've ever seen and he's the best pure passer I've ever seen play. Manning is 2nd, Fouts 3rd.

ETA: I might move Warner ahead of Fouts on that list
