Ok, I know what not to do. Having never been a GymGuyTM, what do I need to know, what should I take with me into the gym area and what should I do before going in? I'm pretty much a complete noob, I know the basics of various exercises, although I'm planning to sit down and find a decent set that I should do. Right now, the goal for the first 2 months is to get comfortable, know what I'm doing, not feel lost whenever I go into a gym, and establish a repeatable pattern that works for me.

Small cheat sheet listing exercises that day, crumpled up piece of paper in your pocket...just exercise names, if you can't remember what it is go back and memorize it again then do it next time. Write down more exercises than you will do. That way if you are unable to do an exercise because the equipment is not available you can do something else instead of waste time waiting for god knows how long.
Only do one exercise at a time. Don't take more than 30-45 seconds between sets. 3 sets per exercise. Somewhere between 10 and 15 reps per set.
Wipe down equipment after exercise before starting next one.
Since you're a noob you should be tired at the end of the third set, but not exhausted. More likely to cause an injury.
If something hurts don't ignore it, it will get worse, diagnose the problem.
Lastly, the first time at the gym is not the hardest. The second and third times are. You're going to be sore. When you're sore do the exercises just at a lower weight. This is normal. Have to do it though.
