So I go to the Dr. today and get tested for flu it was negative but he says I have all the symptoms of pnuemonia. My wife and I have been staying home everyother day with one of my twins who was also diagnosed with pnuemonia 2 weeks ago. You just sleep, wake up and go to the bathroom, and sleep some more. Everytime I cough it feels like my bones are breaking. Other than that it has been pretty easy. I did get a cough syrup with codeine so I am going to swig a bunch of it down and play pokerstars.

what is your poker stars username again? JK, hope you feel better! i always try to drink a big glass of scotch or two when i am sick. Seems to do the trick every time. Maybe that's why i don't ever get sick - :mindblow:

i contracted pneumonia 2x, as a freshman and a junior in college. i ran a temperature of 104, which led to massive aches. i had a vicious backache due to the fluid buildup. my tell was the waves it came in at me. i would feel good for 2 Hours, then i had Hours where i couldnt breathe or move. the double shot has left me very succeptable to bronchitis, as my pneumonia was bronchial.

the first time is when i learned i was allergic to codeine (opiods), as the cough med made me hallucinate.

though you feel like death, try to eat bread, plain broth and OJ. stay hydrated. mucinex helped me. also, a vicks medicated humidifier, vicks vapor rub on your chest and back and regular alcohol rubs will help. stay in bed for at least 5-7 days, it is highly contageous.

the good news? going forward you'll always know when you are getting sick by the backache that seems out of place.

Sorry Shiz - just hang in there and let it run its course. I had Mono my junior year of HS and lost over a month and a half. Lots of sleeping and wild dreams. Got back to strength pretty quickly after it cleared though.

Sorry to hear.... on the bright side, at least you aren't about to have a chunk of your colon taken out in a few weeks.

I highly recommend certain natural medicinal herbal remedies.

I had this when I was early 20's and it messed me up bad. Have never sweat so much in my life as I did in my bed with a fever that was really bad, yet I felt like I was freezing. I got so dehydrated that I was in pain.

Drink as much water as you can and take of yourself. Good luck!

Nope. Many of them suppress breathing. Not at all good with pneumonia.

Get well soon, Shiz. Sunday football should be extra fun.

Man I had the most weird dreams last night. Woke up covered in sweat. Thought I was being chocked by someone and it was due to coughing. The dreams are crazy, but at least I was able to sit up today and at least browse the internet.

A number of ways to get the goods, if thats your thing. Not advocating gravity bongs here.

It's the drug(s) that has the effect, not the delivery system.

what's the deal with silent P?

I had to work in phone support for a couple months when I was younger and I would always say things like "K as in knife" or "P as in pneumonia" or "C as in czar" when spelling over the phone.

Having pain in my right lower ribs. Yep, they have a hairline fracture. I guess my manly coughing fractured my ribs. I need dilaudid.

I had pneumonia 3 weeks ago. I always thought only old people caught it. I never knew it was contagious either. Took 4 days off work and I'm still recovering. I have that codeine cough syrup it's pretty good also some ####ty inhaler and painkillers. I have a followup appointment Sunday not sure if it's worth the copay I am on the road to recovery.

Yuck. I sure hope that gets better soon. It's not as if you can put your lungs in a sling.
