I think it's time to contact your local sheriff. At least get confirmation that the story is real.
If you don't, then can I have your fishing gear when you die?

I don't know what good it's going to do you.
Everytime I think I have a nibble, some dork cannonballs into the fishing hole.
Seriously though, the more involved I become in this thing, the less remarkable I find it. Here’s the scenario as I see it:
1. Some poor guy’s daughter either runs away or kills herself six years ago and 150 miles from here.
2. The father has a problem coming to terms with that and hires a psychic. For all I know, he may have lied about the cop recommending him because he’s a little embarrassed by the fact that he’s gone to such extremes.
3. This psychic makes maybe hundreds of statements in the form of “visions”, and after six years, one of them seems to actually make some sort of connection to an actual occurrence or item.
4. The local cops are so unimpressed with this that they don’t even bother to send anybody from the force to investigate. Instead, they give it to a rent-a-cop.
It’s all beginning to appear rather mundane to me.
