I figured DT was just telling PS not to share his visions with me because it would be considered unprofessional. But what DT was really concerned about was PS recruiting me as an ally to convince Bill to stick with him. I could be wrong, but that was all I could come up with. If it was an actual crime scene, DT would have been on his cell phone to his cop buddies while we were still on the scene.

While it's plausible for the terrain, it's not probable for the story. Why would the PI have a quick hushed word with the Psychic otw down? Why would the psychic be quiet on the return trip when he was so talkative coming out? They found something and they don't want you involved.Hell, yeah. I find animal bones in the woods all the time. Plenty of hunters will just dump the carcass along a back road once they've got the meat off of it (damn slobs).Animal bones? Really?

DT was always quiet. I figure PS was either dissappointed that they found nothing, or DT had told him to not bother telling me what kind of visions he might have imagined.You know, you people are starting to freak me out a little. I thought this was pretty much done with as far as I was concerned, but now I'm thinking maybe I should go back up there and check it out.

I'm just really surprised that you didn't take a look for yourself. I would have to know. Do you know if the back pack was ever opened when they said they found the deer carcass? When exactly was the last time that you were at that location again? How long ago?

Early April. But when I was there, the only thing I was looking for was a way through the brush. I only saw the blanket because it was right on the trail out of the pool. Those deer bones could have been there and I just never saw them. If they were really trying to hide something as a team, why would PS call out that he found bones?

Because they were planning on killing you anyway. But DT stopped him, made up a quick cover story about "animal" bones, and let you live. As a retired detective hitman, he could tell you were too niave to be a threat. But he didn't account for us meddling kids on FBG to foil his nefarious plans!

Because PS is a little light in the loafers and new to this whole "framing a witness" thing. DT is a pro at it. I bet it went something like this
S walks up to the scene and pulls the old blanket off the ground. The scene is exactly as he visioned in his mind. He knows instinctively where the bones are and he gets on his knees to dig. Two feet below the loosely packed underbrush, PS's fingers grab what he knows is the missing girl's skull. "Bones!" screams PS. He then feels the butt of DT's revolver crash into the side of his temple. DT's hot breath is in PS's ear as he whispers angrily, "#######it PS, do I have to draw you a picture? He's a rube, see? A Patsy." As PS rubs the side of his head, fear and understanding fill his eyes. "But the Smokey the Bear hat, he can't, he can't, he's got to be a good guy." "Good or bad don't matter, see? I need a closed case or I don't get my pension, and this case is just what I need." says DT, waiving his old service revolver casually with one hand while packing the old Pullman blanket into the backpack with the other.
