Even if Tim or someone else says they think someone should be suspended, that doesn't mean the mods automatically suspend people. They will look into it and if the mods think the person deserves to be suspended they will be and if not they won't be. I don't think this one was even debatable, it was blatant.

I think he meant Dodds in his post, his presence is sorely missed. I believe he was the only staff member to ever take a position opposite the majority here? One he was gone it was unfortunate for this place.

To put this into perspective, this wasn't somebody taking a legitimate minority position on an actual debatable issue (e.g. taking a pro-life stance on abortion, arguing against student loan forgiveness, etc.). Dodds' "position" was more akin to arguing 2 +2 = 5 and it indirectly arguably supported violence. In other words, "taking a position opposite the majority here" seems like an unreasonably favorable spin in this context.

Sure - I’ve reported several people for vile stuff. The mods have asked us to so why wouldn’t we if we want to have a “civilized” board? Should we just ignore posts about peoples dead relatives?

I reported 1 post recently. It was directly threatening violence against certain people. Up until then, I have years and years of never reporting anyone, and I hope I can return to that.
