"I started James Jones" support group (1 Viewer)

I started DJ Smith, who did a bit below average, but was facing the Rogers/Forte owner, so :pickle:

 Wait....sorry, I'm in the wrong room.

Not only did Jones put up the goose egg, but the slow motion close-up of Rodgers calling out Jones for running the wrong route was just pouring salt the wounds of those of us foolish enough to start James.

Has anyone watched this guy over the last couple of years? A perennial fantasy tease. Everyone jumped on him this week based on opportunity. He plays for the Green Bay FREAKIN Packers, where the QB spreads it around to 10 receivers a game; the opportunity has always been there but he's just not good enough to capitalize

There is a reason no NFL team offered him the money this offseason when he was available to the highest bidder

Grabbed Jones after losing out on Cobb in a league I have Jennings and started him. While I'm not happy with the points he gave me, I'm happy I can drop him back to waivers next week for someone else rather than holding on to him with false hope.

This happens every year. He has one big blow up game like last week and I start him the next week thinking he is finally going to have a good game two weeks in a row. Shame on me for falling for it three years in a row.

Taking the high road here: starting Jones with his goose egg means the win this week will be even sweeter. And, to agree with an earlier poster, now I can drop this guy.

You guys were warned about Jones in that other thread.

As far as that game and FF...wow! This might be one of those games that causes all kinds of effects in fantasy this week. I can't imagine Rodgers owners are happy. Cutler owners might be rethinking their starting QB now.

But somewhere there are IDPers whos started Clay MAtthews that are very happy.

Call me a glutton for punishment but I'm holding. He's my WR5 so it's not like I need him to be huge (granted, I need him to be a helluva lot better than he was last night). I did like the fact he was targeted in the end zone again and he was extremely productive with Jennings on the field in Week 1. He is what he is; a very inconsistent player who, just when you're ready to wave the white flag will put up a huge game. Unless someone really exciting catches my eye on the WW I'm going to hang onto Jones the next few games and see how things play out.

Last week - started Jennings and Packers D = 17.5 points and won

This week - started Jones and Packers D = 20.9 points and we'll see

I was fuming about Jones, but the Packers D was awesome last night.

Yeah it sucks but to be fair everyone had a bad game. 3 drops by Jordy and Finley (plus the fumble) and you never know what happens if they catch those.

I'll try to hold on to JJ in case of a major injury but I was really hoping for WR2 numbers last night - instead a big fat 0. Probably cost me the win this week - oh that and Rodgers put up a stinkbomb.

Had Cutler and Packers D in my lineup. ESPN projected them to get 16 points (13,3 respectively). Ended up with 18 points -- (-3) for Cutler and (+21) for the Packers D.What killed me is picking up JJones for the injured GJennings.

Yup. Nelson ended up with a productive game but he was awful early. Jones, Finley and Cobb all did squat. Driver scored but that was his only play of the game. I'm not trying to absolve Jones for his poor night but there will be better days ahead for the Green Bay passing game and that's one of the reasons why I'm holding onto him for a few more weeks. I think they really missed Jennings so if he comes back that should open up things for everyone, including Jones.

:( For starting Jones

:( For starting Cobb x2 (together with Jones in one league forming a #### sandwich)

:( For benching my Packer defense x2 (woulda scored 26 points)

:) For playing against A Rodgers in that Jones/Cobb league./

I did the same. Cobb was already taken in my league so Jones seemed like the next best thing to cover for Jennings. I almost put in McCluster at the last minute too.I can't wait to drop Jones Monday morning. Good riddance.
