"I took Harrison when A. Gonzo was still on the board" (1 Viewer)

Call me stupid but I would do it again.
Stupid. :confused:Harrison is toast. Even after the first game when he had a bunch of catches for a bunch of yards, I posted in one of the threads that he just looked very slow and old, and I pretty much got attacked. If he has more than two TDs over 35 yards this year, I'll walk to China.

How's that jump to conclusions board working out?

I'd rather have Marvin for the rest of this season. I wouldn't be shocked if Harrison had 2 TD's against the Jags forget all season.

ETA: Didn't see the 35+ yard part, that may be true, but Marvin has a great feel for the end zone.

I have eyes. He's done. I'm guessing you are one of the 5% of the FF population who would rather have Marvin at this point. I would give Harrison AND another good player to the Gonzo owner right now.For the record, I'm starting Bryant Johnson over Marvin this week. Never thought I would type those words.

Dungy has some pretty good quotes in an Indiana Times article saying Marvin isn't done... Also, opposing defenses have been using the #1 corner on Harrison, so they must still see him as a threat which Dungy mentions... I've had him on my teams 5 times, and he always looked unimpressive and would lull you into not seeing him greatness until suddenly he was open for a big score.. He hasn't done that yet, but it's only been two games!! Moss, Owens, etc have all had games where they caught 1 pass.

I remember a few years ago, there was a 6 or so game stretch to start the season where Harrison was avg at best. Everyone was saying Wayne had passed him.. I traded for him, and that week on a Monday night game- he went crazy and blew up for the rest of the season.. Finished top 5.. Granted, I don't think he's still at that level, but I think he's the solid #2 in Indy...

What did you expect Marvin to say? Even he thinks Marvin is done he would never say it. He did also say that he would see how the season plays out which is a nod in favor of Gonzo2.

You are probably right about that.

Well, I certainly applaud your optimism and loyalty, but I just don't see it. Hope you're right though.

I don't really think Harrison is the problem. Wayne really isn't getting much either. Watching the game last week, Peyton is rushed on every throw. Wayne and Harrison aren't getting the ball because Peyton doesn't have time for anything except the quick hitter to the slot receiver. Once the line gets shored up, they both will be fine.

I'm in a start 2 WR league and I have TJ housh, S. Holmes, Oucho Cinco and Gonzalaz.

It's tough to start a WR3 over a WR1, especially in week 2. However, if I could wrap around my brain that Gonzalez is the WR2 there, it could be a little easier.

Harrison is a good buy low guy. You can pick him up cheap, and he will be a good WR3 with a ton of upside should the Colts get their act together.

talk me after the Colts game today, stupid.

As a Wayne/AGonzo owner, I wish Harrison was done.

Indeed, it looks like it could possible be the case.

But I wouldn't bet on it.

Dallas Clark comes back and Gonzalez sees a lot fewer looks.

From what I have seen Gonzo looks much better on the field than Harrison. I think that Harrison's impressive past stats will keep him in the starting lineup for now but that the Colts are a better team with Gonzo in there. I think Harrison (ala Rod Smith when he had the massive decline late in his career) has fallen off the cliff that old WRs seem to reach late in their career.

I struggled with this decision this week. Ultimately went with Johnson as a WR3 over Harrison. Looking over the historical stats for the past two seasons Jax has done a good job keeping Indy WR out of the end zone. Seems like Dallas Clark has been the biggest benefactor (4 of the 6 passing TDs have been to Clark). This league isn't a PPR league and given how bad Detroit has been playing coupled with the problems with the O-line in Indy, I just couldn't justify starting Harrison over Johnson (did I really just type this). Harrison seems to have been relegated to a start during favorable match-ups role even in a 3 WR league.

Two weeks does not a season makes, but those of us who took Gonzalez and passed on Harrison are looking smart. It may not hold, but looking good so far. It will be interesting to see how things progress in the season, and now again with Clark back. I just don't see Harrison coming back to his 2006 form. Maybe it's because he hurt our WCOFF team so bad last year, but I think everything (age, knee injuries, off the field distractions, resting on his laurels?, etc. etc.) has finally caught up to him.
