IDP dynasty rankings - DT (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
With the regular season nearly upon us, and given the fact that the FBG IDP dynasty rankings don't seem to have been updated recently, I'm just going to throw my own rankings up here and try to generate some discussion. While there are still going to be wild fluctuations in the rankings as the cuts come in and depth charts get updated, I thought those of you who participate in leagues with large IDP rosters might get some use out of seeing how another IDP fanatic has players valued. Here are the DTs...I'll add other positions shortly. Apologies in advance for the formatting.

Ropati Pitoitua needs to be on this list and should be in the top 40. He's a monster and Rex continues to sing his praise, as does Bart Scott. He continued to play well throughout the preseason and looks like he'll be a factor well before Kendrick Ellis.

He tore his ACL last year, but looks great.

With how inconsistent Sedrick Ellis has been, I'm surprised to see him at the #2 spot.

He's playing end, so he's in the DE list.

Two rookies that you might want to keep an eye on: Drake Nevis (IND - Rd 3 pick #87) and Karl Klug (TEN - rd 5 pick #142). Both of these guys have been wrecking balls in the interior during the preseason and could make an early impact on their teams.

Think Haynesworth is too high for a rotational player
He's a tough guy to rank. Voted by his peers as the most dominant defender in the league in '09 and he's only 30. He could easily be the top DT in the game if he had his head on straight and had half the motor and focus of some of his peers. The ranking reflects the talent, but I, too, am pessimistic that even Belichick can bring it out. Definitely a caveat emptor on him.

Geno Atkins is a great pass rusher from DT that will now be the starter for all downs. If he can stick on the field against the run, his potential should have him way higher IMO.

ETA: Thanks again for doing these. Awesome point of reference.

Agreed, should probably move him even higher than I already have him. Has it indeed been confirmed he'll be a 3-down player? They've got a lot of depth at DT w/Peko, Pat Sims and Jason Shirley, and they also occasionally move Fanene and Rucker inside on passing downs as well. He's definitely their best pass-rushing threat from the interior, but I think they'll still rotate the other guys in who have a bit more sand in their pants.

...and given the fact that the FBG IDP dynasty rankings don't seem to have been updated recently...
Tell me about it. Been waiting for those updates as well. Must be rough on them with the shortened preseason and all.Again, thanks for posting and giving us something to peruse.

Not at all. Labor of love. ;) Lots of insightful discussion already which was just what I was hoping for. It's especially helpful when the homers chime in with info on the more off-the-radar players who are on the verge of making an impact. Much appreciated and I hope more reports come in!
