I know guys are always looking for stuff like this to gauge the value of rookies in drafts, and there is always more non-IDP stuff posted, so I thought I would share our draft results.

SFL 2007 Rookie Draft

FWIW, my team is the Eatonville Deacons.

3rd round WRs lasting WAY too long.
This is happening in all my drafts too. I think it's a function of Tarvaris Jackson, Brodie Croyle and the mess at QB these guys are looking at. People are overlooking the talent because of the perceived questionable situations. At least Greg Jennings had Brett Favre last year. Even Meachem is falling in my leagues -- I think the CJ hype has overshadowed Bowe and Meachem and Rice a bit.Granted I'm in some IDP heavy scoring systems with some leftover vets thrown in, but Rice and Jarrett are falling to the late second in nearly every draft I've been in.

Fusion (16 team IDP)

My draft picks: 1.1 APeterson, 1.10 Poz, 1.13 Bowe, 2.11 Jamal Anderson, 4.10 A Waters(SD), 5.11 S Nicholas 5.13 A Bradshaw

GMX (16 team IDP)

4.13 Darius Walker, 6.11 Ikaika, 6.12 James Jones, 7.3 Brent Celek, 7.11 Stanback, 8.7 Snelling, 8.12 Josh Gattis

ConFusion (16 team IDP)

5.10 Darius Walker, 7.5 CJ Gaddis, 7.7 Nick Folk, 7.16 Snelling

Dynasty Wars 2 (16 team IDP)

traded out of the entire draft

Dynasty Wars 3 (16 team IDP)

4.4 Q Black, 7.7 B Celek 8.7 CJ Gaddis 8.8 S Breaston

for me I am very happy with my fusion draft...in GMX I think James Jones at 6.12 is sorta a steal...ConFusion was a team

that I took over and didnt have much to work with in the way of draft picks....in DW2 I traded out of the entire draft and have never before done that....in DW3 I traded up for Black and heard a few "internet groans" after I took him.

all of these leagues are tackle heavy(2pts/tackle, 1pt/asst, sacks are 2pt except in GMX they are 3pts)

on a non idp note brent celek is probably going undrafted in 99.99999% of all rook drafts but the birds have shown in their past that they wont overpay for a player and with that said LJ Smith is in the final yr of his contract so Celek has value as a stash and hold for a yr

FYI, Celek is a hard-working, but very average player. A poor man's Chad Lewis might be too harsh, but I don't see him becoming any kind of fantasy force if Smith is allowed to walk in the offseason.

I always liked what Chad brought to the birds...and I do know that Celek has an uphill battle but in GMX I own LJ and have the room on my DTS just on the off chance that he does end up the starter down the road...and in DW3 I have winslow but nothing much behind him so there it was just a late stab...now back to your regularly scheduled IDP Programming

It looks like the biggest reach in the draft was the team who selected SLB Stewart Bradley. Awful pick!
:goodposting: That was a huge reach considering Davis, Durant, Waters, Barnes...even Baldwin...were still on the board.Carriker ahead of several other DLs (Moss, Moses, Johnson) is questionable as well...

You guys are both right - they are lasting a long time in a lot of drafts I'm seeing. WRs generally have a rough time in their 1st years to begin with. But it's tough to swallow the idea of a guy like Laurent Robinson with Michael Vick throwing him the ball. Or Rice/Allison depending on Tavaris Jackson. Or Bowe with Croyle. Or Jacoby Jones with Schaub. Or Higgins with God knows who.All of them are in pretty rough situations for this year, so unless your team is in a position to be able to wait a year or two (or more) for production, it's hard to willingly spend a draft pick on those guys.

I would almost NEVER base a draft pick on rookie year production. You can only really expect much from the top RBs and LBs, and theyre no brainers usually anyway. It's very dangerous to pass on someone because the rewards may not come in year 1.

:) And this is why we make sure no one in our leagues know of the Bloom 100, the Audible etc :excited:
