A guy in my league says that I was lucky that I won the championship because our IDPs arent as valuable as offensive players  what would happen if IDPs were as valuable as offensive players?
Most owners would adjust their player valuations accordingly and those who didn't would say stuff like ''You are lucky to be champ because if Kickers were as valuable as IDP's i would have cleaned house''.

It's a hard sell to change league scoring like that. It changes the dynamic of the league.Guys like Patrick Willis would be as valuable as Adrian Peterson. You would need to also award something like 6pts/sack for DL to make them as valuable as TE. CB would need 3pts/tackle to compete with WR.If you are intent on changing the league scoring, I would recommend phasing it in over 2 years. This way teams are able to prepare and make draft moves to compensate.
I also want to mention that I personally like it when leagues place an extremely high value on RBs. I don't like it when top stud RBs are equal in value to top studs at any other position. (Should AD be equal to Pat Willis, R Moss, Brady?)
I am in a 16 team league with VERY high scoring for IDPs. It's fun. Not sure if it's better or worse, but its fun. I think it depends on each owner's preferences for what makes a good scoring system.
Patrick Willis and Brian Urlacher were both top 20 scorers.
I think if we are going to put all the effort in to studying that side of the ball then scoring should reflect it. If IDPs are just an afterthought in your league then.......they are just an afterthought. Its like losing to a kicker.
When you equate the value of IDP scoring with offensive scoring, you greatly increase the degree of difficulty, which will naturally expose those less willing to put time into the hobby. It's not for everyone, but I love to do it.

So do I. Leagues where there are 11 IDP starters who score fairly high can help a team with average-to-good offensive skill players compete with other teams who have the offensive studs but so-so IDPs. The IDP scoring can serve to even the playing field against teams with starters such as Peyton, R. Moss, Housh, Witten, etc. Finally, as redman pointed out, the homework is so important since the sleepers can come out of any position from any team. Last season, I actually competed in an IDP-only league and it was as much fun as any of the other leagues I was in.
