IDP Stats (1 Viewer)

This might be a stupid question, but where can I find a list of IDP stats for the season? MFL just does it by points per week, and for some reason CBS doesn't include tackle assists, rendering their system totally useless. I don't think FBG has anything like this - am I wrong about that? I'm a subscriber.

TIA.

I don't think you're able to generate a single page of full stats from our database. You can generate partially complete pages via MFL by doing an advanced search by "defenders" (gives tackles, assists, FR, INT, sacks only). Otherwise, you'll need to use one of the major media outlets I believe.

It would be great to see a historical data base similar to what Doug Drinen does for offensive players that tracked all the defensive stats over the years.

I do not know of anything like this being available.

NFL.com only keeps stats available on thier site for the last 3 or 4 seasons. I do not know if they have an archive.

Specific players do have thier career stats recorded on the player page. But when a player retires they are no longer part of the data base.

Much of my experience with IDP stats has to draw on memory instead of being able to look up stats of players who have since retired.

If anyone has some helpful suggestions regarding this it would be great information.

Right now you can access stats from the 2003 regular season on NFL.com

But be advised that sometime after the superbowl NFL.com will remove those stats and we will only have the stats from 2006-2004 available. So for anyone wanting to track stats over several seasons its a good idea to copy them into excell or somthing for safe keeping. I wish I had done this for previous seasons but I have not.

So the only way to track trends going back further than this is by looking at the individual players on a case by case basis.

Would love to see a more complete data base.
