idp trades? (1 Viewer)

I have a question for you fellow idp guys.

This is my first year in idp and i like it. Recently i sent a trade and it got accepted and now everyone is saying this is collusion. I traded Pat Angerer for Dustin Keller. Do you guys or have you guys seen top def players get traded for offensive players?

This trade helps both teams ....

Im not here to get an opinion..just..do you trade def for def only?

i don't get it. People say you can go to free agents and just pickup any lb. My argument is that you can but it will not be a top lb. Top 25 lb's are gone so if opponent wants a top lb he has to trade.

I don't see anything wrong with it, but it really would depend on league size, number of starters, roster sizes, scoring, etc. (like who is available on waivers). That could be why other league members don't like it.

Many times in my league it involved IDP players being traded for offensive players. It all comes down to comparative value. In our league we start 7 offensive players and 7 defensive players - scoring trends toward offense slightly (lets say the well balanced lineup would be about 60% offense and 40% idp for scoring output. However a team with 3 top twenty LBs could easily turn one of them for a WR2-3 or RB2-3. I haven't seen it go as far as a LB1 for a RB1 or WR1; but there is a lot of hidden points you can make up in IDP especially when you have most owners focusing more on offensive players.
