***I'll need each message boarder on the above list to send me a PM or email bramel at footballguys dot com with your preferred email address to have the league invite sent to you ASAP. I'll update this post when I've sent your invite. If you haven't sent an email/PM by Saturday evening or signed into the league by Sunday afternoon, I'll replace you with one of the alternates.***

**Offensive scoring will include PPR. Defensive scoring will be league dependent as above. Scoring system can be found at the MFL league site. All offensive lineups will be QB/2RB/3WR/TE/PK with a single RB/WR/TE flex to total nine offensive starters. All defensive lineups will be 2DE/DT/3LB/2CB/2S with a single DE/LB/DB flex to total 11 defensive starters. All owners will draft 38 players during a slow MFL draft to begin Monday, July 27th. Initial draft order will be generated randomly and will not be final until I've posted it in this thread. There will be no positional restrictions and no trading of picks/players during the draft. The draft will have a 24 hour clock, but prompt drafting and the use of the predraft function is strongly encouraged and appreciated.

**Owners will not submit lineups. The best available lineup will be scored from your entire roster of players.

**This season's contest will be an all-play contest. Each team will play every other team each week. Total wins and losses will be added up over the eight week "season". The three teams with the highest record will advance to the final leg and draft immediately following MNF of Week 8.

**Prizes will be awarded to the top eight finishers in the final league. A full set of rules for the final league will be posted well in advance of the draft start.

Looks like we have our work cut out for us, with 4 of us from last years finals in this league, and last years champ(& IDP genius) Jene.

Plus a bunch of regulars, I could be bias but seems like the toughest league. I look forward to the challenge!!

Good luck guys.

Thanks again Jene for putting this together and also to David for the prizes.

This is just one of the many reasons Footballguys is by far the cream of the crop when it comes to fantasy football.

Crap! I can't start drafting Monday. I'm away camping until Tuesday night.

Would anyone object if I setup a long list of preranked players and just set it to autodraft until I return Tuesday night?

It's your entry. If you wish to draft and not time out for each pick (which is strongly discouraged  ) and make up your picks later, you can either find a partner to draft for you or set up a long list of predrafted picks to cover you for a few rounds.

I've made my list long enough for atleast 6 rounds (73 players long). And since I draft from the 11 spot you guys will be able to draft without any issue (caused by me) until atleast the 83rd pick. If you guys can get through that many picks between 9am Monday and whenever I get home Tuesday (late afternoon, early evening) then I'll be shocked. Also if you could save any laughter relating to my picks until I return and am able to experience the mocking in person, I would appreciate it. :)

Does anyone know where I set my status to auto draft right away using my predraft list? It'd be better if I could set this rather than you guys waiting until I time out.

I can set this up as the commish. Here are the rules of how the website makes these picks. Hint: Check all franchises that the system should automatically make all picks for as soon as they get on the draft clock. The system will automatically pick a player for the owner based the highest-ranked available player, first based on the owner's "My Draft List" player ranking, and then once that list is exhausted, according to rankings displayed on the ADP page. Note that pre-draft picks always take first precedence, so if an owner has pre-draft picks for a round, they will be checked for a possible draft pick instead of relying on this setting.

I'll need to for certain that you want this turned on and approximately what time you'd like it turned off. I'll make every effort to toggle it off at the time you request, but unfortunately cannot guarantee that I'll be able to do so.

Let me know what you'd prefer to do.

Sorry for the delay, folks. Turns out it was my fault.

I was awaiting confirmation that he wanted the MyDraft function turned on immediately upon picking or would get a partner. He didn't reply and I hadn't yet thrown the switch. With Rudnicki's help, I've confirmed that he did indeed post a list. I'm assuming that his future picks will be made immediately according to that list. That's what the explanation of that function suggests. If not, we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

Hey guys, LaToya Jackson music video is out. Just got over-ridden and booked on a new NBC pilot starring John Luvitz and I start tomorrow. My cell is on my team profile page. Problem is, I won't be carrying around a cheat sheet lol. I'll be on this pilot for 5 days so wish me luck and I hope to hell it gets picked up. WOOP WOOP!!!

OK well I'm back. I and see now that my reading comprehension is fading in my later years. I totally thought that we only did IDPs in this league, but I guess now that I think about it I do remember having offense in the first half of the year.

Any chance I could be allowed to drop Allen and Williams and just select from whatever offensive players that are still available?

Unfortunately, I can't revert the draft back two full rounds. Draft strategies may have changed based on your actual picks or the new ones. Good to have you back before the 3/4 turn, however.

All 11 other teams just benefitted for two full rounds due to my error and you're worried that their draft strategies might be affected if I'm allowed to drop Allen and Williams and pick up two offensive players?

Unfortunately, I've got to step out for the next 3-4 hours. I'll address this as soon as possible.

With apologies, I've been rushed this afternoon and evening. That last post was an incomplete reply.By not stopping the draft last night, I've made the decision that the picks would stand. The rules were clear in this thread, the original thread and on the website. While there was every indication that you may have read the rules incorrectly, I decided it would be improper to suspend the draft every time I suspected someone had made an error until it could be corrected. In my opinion, this error is different than drafting the wrong player with the same name or a misclick on a player next to the intended target on the draft list. We did not allow a drafter to replace picks made due to an error reading the rules last season, even after the draft was complete, so, although it wasn't quite as significant, there was precedent established. And yes, without stating any more right now, I believe reconsidering the decision and putting players back into the pool at this point affects the draft as it currently stands.Honestly, I'm not particularly happy with the decision. I understand it creates a hardship in the contest and that, in hindsight, the kinder thing would have been to suspend the draft even if it left open a slippery slope for future decisions. However, and particularly since I'm drafting in this league as well, I'm using last season's precedent and the clear rule set posted in multiple places as the basis for the decision.

Fair enough.

Well I started this draft being forced to set up a predraft list for the first couple of rounds because I was away camping. Due to my failure to read the league rules thoroughly I failed to realize/remember that this league starts as both an offensive and defensive league. Whereas the second half of the year is IDP only. As a result my predraft lists were comprised solely of defensive players and so I ended up with Jared Allen and Mario Williams in rounds 1 and 2.

So I had to move on from there and make the best of a bad situation. While the odds of me moving on to the next round are not good, I do feel as though my team is about as good as I could have made it given the circumstances. My QBs, TEs, and PKs are as good as anyone can ask for. And my IDPs have studs across the board and 8 of them don't have bye weeks. Hopefully that will be enough to overcome the weeknesses of my RB and WR positions.

--------------------

My QBs are very solid. I was the first team in the league to draft 3 of them. This is likely due to last season when I had Palmer and Hasselbeck go down to injury and only my late round selection of Pennington rescued me. I realized then the absolute importance of having three QBs.

Manning, Eli NYG QB - 10

Pennington, Chad MIA QB - 6

Rodgers, Aaron GBP QB - 5

This league went extra heavy on the RBs in the first 3 rounds so not even a guy like Pierre Thomas was available by my 3.10 pick. I had to scrape the bottom of the starting RB barrel to muster up this crop. I can only hope that fortune smiles on me and guys like Charles and Faulk can help contribute big receiving days to help fill in when Smith, Ward and Wells have down days.

Charles, Jamaal KCC RB - 8

Faulk, Kevin NEP RB - 8

McGahee, Willis BAL RB (P) - 7

Smith, Kevin DET RB - 7

Ward, Derrick TBB RB - 8

Wells, Chris ARI RB - 4

Again without a stud like Randy Moss in the 2nd round this group is probably the weakest in the league. I played the numbers game here as well by adding an 8th WR. Jene is the only other team to grab that many WRs. The majority of these guys are starters and they are all capable of putting up a 100 yard receiving day. I just need to hope that atleast 3-4 of them can do so each week.

Branch, Deion SEA WR (P) - 7

Breaston, Steve ARI WR - 4

Bryant, Antonio TBB WR - 8

Camarillo, Greg MIA WR (P) - 6

Clayton, Mark BAL WR (Q) - 7

Higgins, Johnnie Lee OAK WR - 9

Jones, James GBP WR - 5

Muhammad, Muhsin CAR WR - 4

I feel like I got Gonzo far later that he should have been selected (8.02) so I'm loving the value there. Hopefully I won't need Boss in too many weeks but if I do atleast he'll be there all 8 weeks as he won't have a bye.

Boss, Kevin NYG TE - 10

Gonzalez, Tony ATL TE - 4

Seeing as how kickers are a crap shoot anyway, I figured I might as well grab every helpful percentage that I can and make sure to take two guys with no bye week.

Feely, Jay NYJ PK - 9

Lindell, Rian BUF PK - 9

These two guys were both top 10 last year. Cross my fingers and hope they perform as well. Besides I can't do any worse than last year when I had my only DT go down to injury before the season started. I recorded a 0 from the DT position all 8 weeks and still made it to the next round. Giving me a real score at this position every week will just be unfair to the rest of you. :P

Brown, Tony TEN DT - 7

Ratliff, Jay DAL DT - 6

Atlast we come to the totally devastating portion of my lineup. Considering I used a 1st and 2nd round pick on these guys they certainly better be my strong suit. I also added Shaun Ellis in the middle of the draft so now I have 3 top 15 DEs and none of them have bye weeks.

Allen, Jared MIN DE - 9

Ellis, Shaun NYJ DE - 9

Williams, Mario HOU DE - 10

I had to spend extra time in the 5th to 10th rounds pick up extra offense so I couldn't jump into the first wave of LB drafting. I'm still happy with my group though as Dansby, Woodley and Greenway should all produce solid numbers. Gooden will hopefully step in a fill Bart Scott's shoes, and Spikes and Tino should be able to contribute a few weeks here and there.

Dansby, Karlos ARI LB - 4

Gooden, Tavares BAL LB - 7

Greenway, Chad MIN LB - 9

Spikes, Takeo SFO LB - 6

Tinoisamoa, Pisa CHI LB - 5

Woodley, LaMarr PIT LB (P) - 8

Three young emerging talents at the CB position and all three have no bye week. If they only match their production from last year I would be happy but I have a feeling atleast two of them will surpass that.

McDonald, Brandon CLE CB - 9

McKelvin, Leodis BUF CB - 9

Revis, Darrelle NYJ CB - 9

Atogwe is an upper tier fantasy safety and has no bye week. I don't see any reason why Page won't continue to develop and produce like he did last year. Nelson is back from injury so hopefully he can pick up where he left off from his rookie season. He was showing some nice signs of being back late last year.

Atogwe, Oshiomogho STL S - 9

Nelson, Reggie JAC S - 7

Page, Jarrad KCC S - 8

Jene will you be leaving the new MFL distiction of DE on Redding?

I was under the impression he would be playing on the inside and possibly moving to end on third downs, but with only a possible third of the snaps at DE I didnt think MFL would reclassify him. I was the one who drafted J.Smith last year and you kept him classified as a DE, any chance you can put Redding back at DT, unless you have read or heard something about Redding playing the majority of his snaps at DE.

Thanks Jene.

Redding will be playing end on base downs and kicking inside to DT this year, not the other way around. I think his positional change is correct. Here's a blog post from early August about Redding's position, but there were indications during OTAs that his role would be LDE on base downs, too.

Also, it was a FBG argument that overturned Justin Smith's reclassification to LB last year for all of MFL, not just these leagues.

Jene do we know who's been eliminated so far? Thanks!
This year's contest is an all-play contest through the first eight weeks of the season. Best three records from each league make it to the final leg.No one has been eliminated. Some are in better shape than others.

Wow. I've been crapping the bed the first 4 weeks, but it looks like I'll put up the best score so far this year in this league. Probably too little too late, but 11-0 at least gives me a little respectablility
