If Bonds didn't hit 73 HR in 2001, would you approve HR totals? (1 Viewer)

Would you approve of his total of 726 (adjusted) instead?

So instead of Bonds hitting 73 in 2001 and breaking the single-season record, lets say that he hit around his average that he had done around that time of about 43 HR... The HR last night would have put him at 726 HR for his career...

Would you be more acceptable of him breaking Aaron's record in 2008 than you are now (if you don't approve it now)?

No because it's still wrong to assume he would hit over 40 every year without enhancers from the age 37+

Hank Aaron finished in the top 5 in HR in the NL in each of his age 35-39 seasons, averaging over 40 per season.Age - HR35 - 4436 - 3837 - 4738 - 3439 - 40Same Chart for BondsAge - HR35 - 4936 - 7337 - 4638 - 4539 - 45Other than the 73, it's not far off. And given trends in longevity, ballpark size, etc, it's not much difference at all.
