I think I know the answer to this question, but...

Many people (myself included) have anointed Bush as a "must have" player. A phenomenal (sp?) player with an almost certain star status in the NFL and a fantasy football dream come true.

Many people (not me) are in the position of having the 1.1 pick in a dynasty rookie draft and have been salivating over the prospect of adding him to their squads. How much does this change if he ends up in New Orleans?

Does his awesome talent override a tough situation?

I don't understand how it would be any better/worse than going to Houston and splitting carries with DD.
Good point. But it almost seemed like a forgone conclusion that in Houston, Reggie would be the RB #1 and Dom. Davis would be the #2.In New Orleans, I would think it would be an official RBBC, a #1A and a #1B.

NO is gonna trade this pick because they just don't have the resources as a franchise to deal with Reggie Bush contract drama. He'll go to the New York Jets.

Yeah, unless the offers just aren't close, I don't see NO keeping the 1.02 pick. I could see the Jets or someone else moving up now.

Because Deuce is about 10 x better than Davis?
I dunno, Deuce hasn't been overly impressive the last two season -- before he was hurt last year he look sluggish. He's had one great year and a couple of good ones. He's not as dominant as people think IMO.

And Davis ain't exactly chopped liver. He's a good back, in a good system. If they only had a little defense...

Which Duece have you been watching recently? I guess not the injury prone, over-rated one.

The bottom line is I think if Bush ended up a Texan, he has good value in 2006 with a lot of touches. As a Saint, he only gets that many touches if Deuce gets hurt.

The only thing that would cause me not to draft him at 1.01 would be if he broke down in tears after he got drafted.

He's likely breaking down right now and crying. Does that count?

If bush is 1.01 at NO-- i would seriously entertain going with whoever was drafted #1 at Indy.

I do believe his value will drop compared to Houston. First Hou is not sold on DD and still may draft a RB in with one of the first 3 picks (rumors are they are looking a LenDale--ironic). Second, Deuce is 3 down back as good a receiver and much better blocker than DD.

now if bush goes to TEN or NYJ-- i think he is 1.01.

OTOH, he may be smiling at not going to Houston.
Nobody smiles at losing millions of dollars. Worse yet, he could be in a worse situation.

Just a morning bump on this one, although it won't matter in a couple hours.

Looks like most people would still take Bush in New Orleans. Couple reasons listed by posters: a) Deuce's health/injury concerns, b) possible tradeability of Deuce, c) Bush is that good.

But, they have Michael Bennet!

If I had 1.01 (I don't), I would not be happy with Bush going to NO. I would far prefer him going to NYJ, Ten, or SF. That said, I'd still take him and not give it a second thought. The cream rises to the top, and I think Bush is better than Deuce. He's definitely better than Michael Bennet.

Personally, I'd prefer on the Saints offense to the Texans offense, AND I'd prefer him sharing time with a recovering Deuce than sharing time with a healthy DD.

For me, if he ends up on NO his stock goes up slightly. Particularly in dynasty drafts.

If I am drafting Reggie Bush at 1.01 I am assuming that eventually his talent will overcome whatever situation that he is put in.
