Yeah a meaningless hypothetical, but we have two weeks until the next NFL game so why not.

If Michael Vick somehow found himself back in the draft pool for 2010 at current age and ability, where would he go?

I've seen alot of opinions of his current worth and just wanted to get another barometer relative to draft picks.

Plus it fits in perfectly with the number of poll options allowed.

Quite a spread of votes here.

Having asked the above, what do you think he is worth in a 2010 pick trade?

(Keep in mind he's currently only under contract for 2010 and for ~$5MM)

Just curious as to what the perceived market is and what the Eagles could get for him.

Thanks again.

I put down he would be a late second, only looking at Pat White going in the Second, and I still think Vick has more worth than White in the long run right now.

As for a NFL draft pick, I think a team will give up no more than a 5th, and if a team trades for him they see him as a stop gap starter for a year or two, not a back up/Wild Cat player.

Who is voting for 1st and 2nd rounds? Why? I don't get it.

Early 4th would be my best guess. No earlier than a 3rd round. To old and to low of a ceiling to go any higher.

Early third, but the guy has pro-bowl talent, a plenty strong pro arm and doesn't bring any risk of not making the transition to this level. He can take hits and move better than maybe any QB ever - although maybe some less than in his first incarnation. At 29, he easily has another 5 or 7 years at top ability (although slowing year by year). The question remains whether a team can either make him a sufficient pocket passer to be succesful or devise an offense than can use his talents effectively. Not saying either of those can happen, but with so many questions answered that aren't for a normal rookie, I think someone would take that chance by the early third. I recognize too that some teams wouldn't take him in teh entire draft - but you only need one to get him picked.

Me either. Given who he is now and what he's shown, I think that AT BEST you'd see him as a mid to late 2nd day pick, and honestly his most likely suitors would want to convert him to some sort of HB or WR or Hybrid positon. I'm thinking Josh Cribbs type role here. His days as a throwing QB are done IMO.

I think this is Vick's problem, his game does not transition to the NFL.

I went early third, meaning the first dozen picks. He could be a piece to the puzzle, but he's not something you build around. That sounds like a third round type of guy.

Part of the problem is he will get paid like a 30 year old vet. He'll get 4 or 5 mil a year on any new contract he signs if he is traded. So comparing him to some QB who'd be available in the 2nd or 3rd is not quite right. If Pat White in the 2nd is a comparable, 4.5 mil got 4 years of Pat White and will only get one of Vick.

Agree with this. I almost voted undrafted, but that was based on judging him as a QB. I think he still has third-fourth round value as a hybrid mostly due to the rise in wild cat formation in the league.
