If Moss is traded, will Jerry Porter's value skyrocket? (1 Viewer)

No. His value would have already skyrocketed by now. He's a waste.
His value would have skyrocketed with Moss not traded? Please explain
Because with Moss not even trying in Oakland, Porter has had ample opportunity to step up. He hasn't.
He spent last year on the bench for calling his coach an idiot (was he not proven right?)For that reason he is deemed virtually worthless now.To skyrocket from that would be to return upward of 800 yards and 6-7 TDsI don't see how that is impossible, even as WR2 on a team with a louse O-Line (although I think he will be WR1 for much of the season even if the Raiders draft CJ)

Skyrocket is not the term I'd use. Moss' likely departure is already factored somewhat into Porter's rankings now, but If Moss is dealt tomorrow Porter's perceived value rises some because he again will have a chance to be viable.

However, there's no guarantee he'll be with the Raiders either when the season begins. We have to see if he is dealt, we have to see if OAK drafts a WR (CJ) or trades for one (Braylon Edwards) on draft day, and if all is well at that point then we'd have to see how he fits into the Raiders plans. I think right now he'd be WR1b or WR2 to Curry, but he still could end up in the new staff's doghouse like he did with the last one. Finally, he'd have either a rookie or journeyman QB tossing the rock. All in all, Porter's value at best will be in the WR 30s or 40s for fantasy.

 But it is a damn sight better than where he is now...

Not so. Once he hit the preseason doghouse, he was never getting out. He had zero chance to make a difference once Moss started tanking. Porter's 2006 fate was already sealed. A new staff may view him differently.

In four February FBG drafts (WSLs), his ADP was WR 67.

In four April FBG drafts (PDSLs), his ADP was WR 48.

It's been going up and will continue to do so as people are already factoring in that Moss may very well be gone. If Moss is gone, I'm quite high on Jerry Porter (approaching 65 recs and 950 yards). And that's figuring CJ in the mix. Just my two cents.

Agree

Isn't Porter gonna be 29 in a couple of months? How long are we supposed to wait for him to break out?
