LOL @ all the people pimping Pennington over Vick. Vick may have never reached his potential in Atlanta but that wasn't because the guy lacks talent. Put that guy in the right system and he's maybe one of the top 3 players in the history of sport. Those wheels with that hose and people actually think Pennington is even close to him in terms of NFL talent? ####, I could complete 60% of my passes if they were all 10 yard curls to Greg Camarillo too.
I know I'm thinking outside the box here but put Vick in the shotgun with Pat White to his right and Ronnie Brown to his left, put Ted Ginn in motion running toward the center....you're a defensive coordinator...how do you prepare for that formation? Would be unstoppable. Pennington would never see the field and Henne would be the in the CFL.

Seriously, is this

?
No one can deny Vick's athletic ability, nor is anyone attempting to. But he obviously either lacks something between the ears, work ethic, or both. Vick is also a far superior athlete to Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, but I doubt you're going to tell us that you'd take Vick over either of those guys, are you? (And no, I'm certainly not trying to say that Pennington is on the Brady/Manning level; I am merely pointing out that it takes a lot more than athletic ability to be a great QB.) Not to mention that Vick hasn't even played in the NFL since 2006. Do you suppose he more likely got better or worse during his time away from the game?
The Atlanta Falcons spent 5 or 6 years trying to put him "in the right system," and, in order,
they finished 5th, 20th, 16th, 14th, and 25th in offense.
You're asking how an NFL defensive coordinator would prepare for an offense that features a 54% career passer, a guy who caught 56 passes last year, a RB, and a guy who was playing QB in college last year. And your plan is to sit the guy who finished 2nd in MVP voting last year in order to make this happen. Are you serious?
And no, you couldn't complete 60% of your passes if they were all 10 yard curls to Greg Camarillo. If it were that easy, everyone would be doing it.
