Smackdaddies post about leaving FF but still subscribing gave me the idea for this poll. What are your thoughts? I am on the fence with this. I can't imagine giving up the game, but if it is taken away for a year or more I may do just that.......

You need a dont matter option, I'm hardcore enough to play with scab players, I'll do the research so I know who to pick.

Infact I'm ashamed at most for even considering sitting out a year, if this ever happens.

Why would you be ashamed of strangers who stop caring about imaginary football teams?

I won't give it up, but the time off won't do me any good... Not a fan of the way the option is worded.

I will quit following football altogether. The game is passing me by anyway.
The baseball and hockey strike/lockouts ended any passion I had for following those sports. I really love football, but I would feel a bit used if I went back to the sport after player / owner greed made me miss a season. I don't know what I would do.

When the NHL had their lockout I ended up starting to watch NASCAR to fill the sports void during the spring. When hockey came back, I started to watch less NASCAR, but I still follow it. If there is no NFL in 2011, I wouldn't play fantasy football with replacement players, I'd just take the time off.

I have no delusion that many players and owners treat football as no more than a job or a business. While FF is a primary hobby and a major source of entertainment, it is not my life and for 2011, I would find something else. Barring that something else is better than I think 18-24 months out, I will be back the same as before both as an NFL fan and FF player.

if there is no nfl i would :

1-watch nfl network games . they would probably show tons of old games .

2- hook my vcr back up and watch all the 96 packer, 01 patriot,03 patriot,04 patriots,05 steeler and 08 steeler games and playoffs to enjoy once again the title runs .

3-watch college football (which i dont watch much)

I grew up as a baseball fanatic, and continued to hope for the best in '94 as things went downhill. When they cancelled the World Series, though, that was it for me. I gave up on following the sport and have not looked back. I think if the NFL loses some playing time in '11 I'll be OK with it. But if we lose the season, up to and including the Super Bowl, I'm afraid my reaction will be the same as it was with MLB. It won't matter who's at fault between management and labor. "A pox on both their houses" was my sentiment in '94 and likely would be again.
