I guess my point is this: Whenever Brady has been called on, he has always done great(see his game winning drives vs Oakland, St Louis, and Carolina), so why wouldn't you think that if they called on him like that all game long, that he wouldn't be just as successful??
See 2002. Brady was called upon to win games ala Trent Green and Peyton Manning, and he couldn't take his team to the playoffs. Unless "whenever" means "usually", you're off base here.
And btw, Green has Holmes and Manning has the best set of WRs in the league...Before this year, Brady has had nobody to throw to or hand the ball to. So I totally disagree that they are forced to carry their teams, while Brady isn't. If the Pats need a game winning drive, Brady must do it himself. Those other QBs can rely upon the talent around them.

He took his team to a winning record, led the league in TDs along the way, and was in first place in the division when they finished their last game of the season, which they won despite him having a separated shoulder for the last couple games, and a sieve of a run D that had bothered them all season. Remember when Manning broke his jaw and Edge was hurt? He missed the playoffs that year. Therefore, he's not a hall of famer if his career ends today. Right?
I never said Manning was a HOF if his career ended today, nor did I say Manning always delivered when called upon. I merely informed jwvdcw that it's simply not true to say that whenever Brady was called upon to will his team to victory, he has.
He won the last game of the season to put his team into first place! You are acting like he lost that game.

Then how about a guy like Bradshaw?

* Only threw for 3,000+ yards in a season TWICE in his career.
Number of 3000 Yard Passers:1970: 0

1971: 1

1972: 0

1973: 1

1974: 0

1975: 1

1976: 1

1977: 0

1978: 5

1979: 11

2004: 16

Bradshaw may be overrated but I don't think the lack of 3000 yard seasons should play any role in that assessment or the assessment of any QB who played in the 1970's.

Fact is, you can talk all you want about Brady not being HOF worthy yet since he's not Montana when the argument should be: There isn't a single QB with Brady's comperable resume that ISN'T in the Hall of Fame, once Aikman is inducted.
I think the resume would have to include the "seasons played" category so at least in that one respect Brady is not comparable to any Hall of Fame QB.

Right, and Brady hasn't played his entire career with the best OC in the game. :rollseyes:Anyway, I've had enough of this thread...good discussion, that should be moot in a few years.

Were you calling Weiss the best OC in the league when he went 5-13 with Bledsoe as the starter ? What about when Parcells took over the play calling from him with the Jets ?

The same people who were calling Norv Turner an offensive genius when he was OC of the Cowboys with Aikman at the helm. Funny how a little time to look back on things often sharpens the lens.
