Don't laugh, but the Cleveland D could be a good play tonight. Not that they are good, but I think their scoring numbers are a little deceptive; their O this season, except for 1-2 games, has been monumentally awful. Historically bad. They can't stay on the field so the D is on the field all the time. But the real key is the bad weather and high winds. There was a game in Buffalo last year with high winds where it was almost impossible to score. GB/Bears two years ago was something like 35-7 but the Bears had a couple returns for a TD, blocked a punt or two. Favre and Orton COMBINED for about 250 yards passing. Then there was a Bears/SF game around maybe 2006 where the high winds made FG attempts laughable. The SF kicker kicked about a 30 yard attempt that must've been wide by 75 yards because the wind got hold of it. Forget about any passes beyond the dink level. Ben is probably better than most in bad conditions, and he's had some practice the past few years, but if you have Holmes or Wallace, I think you are in trouble. Cleve/Buff earlier this year had a decent amount of wind. Ask Derek Anderson how that worked out.
I would have to think the Cleveland D would be available in virtually any league, and for one week, they might be worth a roll of the dice.
