If you could get your guy in the 1st round who would it be? (catch?) (1 Viewer)

Who would you wait for? We have a lottery pick (redraft). If you get the lotto pick you have 2 min. after each pick to decide if you want to take that pick or wait for another selection. With the lotto pick you also choose where you draft. My question is do you take the 1st pick or target someone else and hope they slip untill later in the 1st. Then you get the player that you really want, you don't have to reach for them and also get the quicker 2nd round pick. Who is the 1 player you think will take you to the title?

I guess I just wanted to see if people would stay at the top of the draft or wait for someone to make a mistake in there draft and capitalize. What do you think of the Lotto pick?

Depends how the draft is structured. In a traditional serpentine draft I'd take the highest pick possible.

It is a traditional serpentine draft. We start 1 qb, 1 rb, 2wr's, 1 te, 1 K, and a Def. Traditional scoring with 1 ppr. With us only starting one RB, WR's are close to the RB's in scoring. ( 4 WR's in the top 20, 4 RB's in the top 20 and 10 QB's in the top 20 last year ) I guess a better way to ask the questions is who would you bet the farm on being the best and or do you want to wait and try to get a better value if someone slides and your #2 pick comes earlier? For example I think LT. will be a stud again and if someone picks him 2nd that's to high. If he drops to 10th I take him at 10.

This is strange.

In theory there is no point in taking the #1 pick. Let's say you want Peterson. He should go #1. You could take the #2 pick; if Peterson goes #1, you claim that spot with your lotto pick. If somebody else goes #1, you get him and have a higher pick in round 2.

Actually, you should just take the last pick. When whatever player you are targeting is taken, you use the lotto pick.

As to which player, that's your choice. Non-ppr Peterson has the highest floor and probably the highest ceiling, but there are a number of RBs that could finish #1. (as always)

Is your question "which 1st round player + the corresponding 2d round pick has the best value?"

Assuming 12 team PPR redraft, using FBG rankings, I'll take Chris Johnson at the 12 and follow up with AJ.
