If you had a draft this past weekend... (1 Viewer)

How far did Larry Johnson slide?

How far did Adrian Peterson climb?

Was somebody sold on McNabb's knee?

Who did somebody gamble on?

A few things of note...

- Alexander slid to 8th

- Larry Johnson remained at #3

- Brandon Marshall was severely undervalued (I got him late, very late)

- McNabb #3 QB off the board, ahead of Brady and Bulger

- Cutler went way too early. Can't remember what round (at work, can't look at site). I believe he went before Young, Romo, maybe Hass.

12 Team, QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, K, D

LJ at 1.06

AP at 4.10

McNabb at 4.06

Romo at 4.08? Jax D at 6.08? (This guy finished last in the league last year, and in the redraft selection, passed on the 1st pick and LT, and instead took draft spot 1.05 and Frank Gore.)

So unfortunately, it's probably actually an 11 team league. . .

10th league

AD 3.1

LJ 1.4

McNabb before Bulger

G.Olsen was 7th TE taken

S.Smith fell to 3.7 & T.Holt to 3.8 (I drafted 3.9).....23 of the first 28 picks were RBs

LJ went 1.5

AP went in the 4th.

Vince Young was the second QB off the board. (UT homer)

Donovan McNabb went fairly early as well. Top 4, I believe.

Cutler went ridiculously early in our league.

Travis Henry slipped to me in the 4th round due to knee concerns. It was post-injury, pre-MRI and I played it up. :excited:

even if you did play it up i dont understand what kind of guppies didnt know the same info as you and suprised you didnt take him in the 2nd (if you had a late pick) or 3rd.

14 team dynasty..... on Aug 11th

Bush 1.3 / Addai 1.5 / LJ 1.6 / Maroney 1.7 / T Henry 1.8 (ouch)

AD mid 2nd (the guy spent his 4th on Chester to lock it up)

I'm shocked at how early the TEs have been going. If you want a top 8 TE (in my leagues anyway) be prepared to overpay for them by about a round. I got Cooley in the 8th and in a 2nd league the TEs went WAY too early and I waited and got Heath Miller in about the 12th. Even the decent backup TEs are going earlier than expected.

That's fine though - I'll just load up on the other positions and be perfectly happy with a Miller, Clark or Daniels in the later rounds.

There was a kicker run in the 7th round??? Furthermore, I did not start it (nor did I participate). In prior years, kickers had always gone in the later few rounds as certainly expected.

Perhaps people have indeed become bored with the skill positions, and are looking for something new and exciting.

10 team league- Heap in the 5th????, all QBs went too high (Brees 2.5- Mcnabb 4.4), LJ went 4th and Peterson went 6.2 and lots of good RBs slid thru the cracks.

10 team league

LJ went 3.

Alexander slipped to 9th.

Steve Smith was 3rd WR taken.

Peterson went 45th.

McNabb went 59th.

1st year of a keep-8, 12-team league. Contract length options are 2-3 years.

Start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, 1DST; 6pts all TDs, -2 for INT's and NO PPR. 17 rounds.

2/3 sharks and 1/3 moderately-experienced owners.

Round 1:

1 L Tomlinson

2 S Jackson (my pick)

3 P Manning (surprising)

4 J Addai

5 L Johnson

6 R Bush (somewhat surprising)

7 S Alexander

8 F Gore (steal!?)

9 W Parker

10 R Johnson

11 L Maroney

12 B Westbrook

Other Notables:

- T. Henry went at 2.03, despite the knee concern

- Young RB's: C. Benson at 2.06, MJD at 2.09, A. Peterson at 2.11 (me)

- Older RB's: Portis fell to 4.02!! and Edge went at 4.04

- Dallas RB: MBIII was drafted 3.5 rounds before JJones

- QB: For this group of owners, historically 3-5 QBs are taken over the first 4 rounds (re-draft); in this keeper format however, 4 QBs were taken in the first 2 rounds!! (Manning, Brady, Brees, Palmer); Bulger (4.03), then McNabb (4.08) rounded out the big-6; I snagged Vince Young at 6.11 after Kitna (5.08) and Romo (6.04)

- WR: Top 5(as drafted): 1 Chad Johnson, 2 S Smith, 3 R Wayne, 4 M Harrison, 5 Roy Williams; only CJ went in round 2; 10 of the 12 picks in round #3 were WR's

- WR: I was surprised to get TJ Housh / D Driver at 4.11 / 5.02; L Evans went at 4.09 and J Walker at 4.12

- TE: Gates went at 3.04, V Davis at 8.05

First draft of the year ... fun times

LJ went 3rd overall

Peterson went in the 3rd

Biggest risk was probably me taking Westbrook/Henry at the 1/2 turn

Biggest surprise was all the players that kept falling to me: Jacobs in the 6th??? Witten in the 12th???? I actually got laughed at for picking Fred Tayor (a starter) as my RB5 in the 11th round.

8 team league, PPR, keep 2 players drafted after 5th round

Here are some notes:

- LJ went 4th overall behind LT, SJax, BWest.

- I actually traded up to get Peterson, who was still on the board somehow at the end of the 7th round (56th overall) and I'll be happy to keep him next year. Also picked up Taylor in the 12th round in case one of the two emerges.

- Alexander fell to 10th overall, but injury concerns and PPR format probably have something to do with it.

- Ronnie Brown fell to the 5th round (38th overall).

- S. Smith, CJ, TO, Harrison, Wayne, Javon Walker all went before Holt.

- Nobody wanted anything to do with Ahman Green.

- QB's were flying off the board.

- We don't have to start a TE, but I still got Todd Heap in the 14th round (107 overall)

- Devin Hester was drafted in the 11th round.

- LenDale White, Jamal Lewis, Julius Jones, Tatum Bell, DeShaun Foster went undrafted.

Certainly didn't go down as expected, but no team really ended up too weak being that it is an 8 team league.

Bass turds Kept timing out refusing to pick. It only takes a couple of nimrods to screw up a slow draft.

This is why I wouldn't consider playing in an 8 team league. None of the RBs not taken are studs but come on... Everyone looks like a Mangenius if you don't even have to go so deep as to draft starting RBs.

Has Frank Gore generally been going at 1.04 if he's not taken before Larry Johnson?

I kind of assumed Gore was the consensus #3 or #4 RB, but in several of the drafts posted above, I Gore lower - sometimes behind Addai, sometimes behind even Westbrook.

Curious what people think the general sentiment is towards Gore as we head into our drafts. Are people that concerned about his hand?

I should've also pointed out RB's that were drafted: Priest Holmes, Leon Washington, Correll Buckhalter (homer pick), Fred Taylor, Ladell Betts, Brandon Jackson, LaMont Jordan, Vernand Morency.I personally didn't draft any of those guys and I'm sure teams will make adjustments before the season even starts. In the 8 team league tho, there usually is too much RB talent to go around and not nearly enough WR talent. By the end of the season it evens out, but the reality is that even with 8 teams, not all teams have 2 consistent every week options at RB.

I have the 5th pick tonight and won't be taking Gore if he is there.LT, SJax, Addai, LJ, and SA are my top 5.

LJ slid to #5

Reggie Bush went #3 overall

MJD went 2.10

Adrian Peterson went 4.02

The Bears D was selected in the 5th round

10 team redraft, draft through e-mail: Devin Hester in the 2nd round as the 1st WR off the board. I $&!% you not. :coffee:

Can I just say for the record that this thread is

I understand that there are guppies in every draft that skew the results and that different leagues scoring systems cause certain players to rise and fall anywere between a few slots to a couple of rounds....but reading this thread is making my day.

Good stuff!

Maybe you guys that drafted this past weekend can just post the results of the top three rounds ???

:lmao:

The biggest to me was MJD going 1.6 ..at first I was like this :lmao:

but then I realized that S.Alexander could be had with the 7th (I had the 7th)

Yeah, in my other non-PPR draft coming up, the big $$$ one that I play in every year, a guy in front of me is giddy as hell about being able to take MJD in round 1. I can't wait to see who falls to me at 1.12!!!

12 team redraft, no PPR

I got Tatum Bell at 8.12 (96th overall). I had to double-check to make sure nothing happened to him before I made the pick...

Was somebody sold on McNabb's knee? Indeed - he was the 2nd QB overall(!) and went at 2.02

Who did somebody gamble on? McNabb was easily the biggest gamble where he went.
See answers above.12 teamer, by the way. Fairly standard scoring....

10 Teamer Standard Scoring, No PPR, No TE (Play WR/TE):

First Ten Picks:

1 Tomlinson

2 LJ

3 SJax

4 Alexander

5 Addai

6 Gore

7 FWP

8 Chad Johnson (Shocker!! This guy also took Wayne in the 2nd round with Steve Smith and Marvin Harrison still on the board)

9 Maroney

10 Peyton Manning

My picks in order: Tomlinson, Steve Smith, Cedric Benson, TJ Housh, Javon Walker, Santana Moss, Jerious Norwood, Romo, Fred Taylor, Jay Cutler, Michael Turner, Broncos D, Todd Heap, Matt Stover, Stephen Gostkowski, Brandon Jones, Bucs D

Some notables from my perspective were:

- LJ being taken ahead of Sjax

- Chad Johnson #8 overall

- I was able to get Romo in round 8

- Brandon Jacobs lasted until the 6th round (I was hoping he would make his way back to me)

- Maurice Jones-Drew went #30 overall (Thought he would go earlier. I debated between him and Benson)

- Portis went in the 4th round

- Deuce McAllister went in the 4th round ahead of some top tier wideouts

- Raider Haters - Lamont Jordan in the 13th round and Jerry Porter in the 14th round (Could end up with huge value)

Overall, it went pretty much to most of the rankings since I have been playing with these guys for about 14 years now. But, there are always a few curve balls...

I took a calculated risk. The other sharks had decided he was too much of a risk. The guppies were following their leads.I didn't realize everyone passed on him when I made my S.Smith in Round 2. (1 point PPR). At Round 3, most people were concentrating on their WR1s and 2s (we start 3 and a possible flex), so I figured many wouldn't come back to RB until round 4 or 5. So I gambled and grabbed Ronnie Brown there. It worked out well.I ended up with...QB- Kitna, Big BenRB- Gore, Ronnie Brown, Henry, Deuce, CaddyWR- S.Smith, Housh, Evans, S Holmes, GallowayTE- Witten K- GostkowskiDEF- Carolina, Minnesota
