If you have the Bears are you starting them against SD (1 Viewer)

Yes, start Da Bears D or at least I am. I have the Fins as a second option and was toying with starting them, but drafted Chicago for a reason. Should make for a good game.

I thought about it a bit, but ultimately I decided to start the Bears as well. This was particularly difficult as Phillip Rivers is my starting QB, but I drafted Chicago so I wouldn't have to play waiver wire of the week defense this year.

Bears special teams could put up some points Week1, for those that draft the D higher than normal, would be silly to roster another D, imo

Depends who your backup D (if you have one) is. If they have even a half-decent matchup, yes I start them because I think LT is going to rip CHI a new one.

For me, this question is almost akin to "Will you start LT versus the Bear's D?"

Bear's D is a no-brainer every week IMO.

I'm sitting the Bears this weekend. I'm starting Minnesota playing at home vs. ATL instead.

I think it depends on your scoring...we start to get negative points when a team scores 20+ pts...no pts for sacks and only 1 for a turnover...I think the Bolts will score more than 20...no need to risk it when I can grab a filler for week one.

Umm the reason you reach to grab the Bears as the 1st defense off the board in the 5th or 6th round is to start them every week regardless of matchups.

The Bears are an every week start.
I disagree, it depends on your #2, and the matchups. I am starting SD instead of the Bears. Chargers have a very good "D", and Chi offense stinks.
If I had that option I'd do that in a heartbeat. Can't believe you got two of the top 4 defenses....
I took Def back to back pretty early......rounds 7 & 8 10 team redraft: start 1 RB; 2 WR; 1 RB/WR; 1 QB, 1 k; 1Def, 1 TE1. LT2. T.O.3. Edge4. Andre Johnson5. Brady6. Portis (everyone was scared) I took a shot7. Chi8. SD

2. T.O.

3. Edge

4. Andre Johnson

5. Brady

6. Portis (everyone was scared) I took a shot

7. Chi

8. SD
Odd move since you didn't have a TE or a #3WR. Instead you take another Def that you'll use maybe once or twice the whole year.

I drafted the Bears as the top d/st on the board and with every intention of starting them every week. No cold feet for me.

And you also draft them early (round 7 for me) so you don't have to draft a 2nd defense.Having only 1 to choose from makes my decision a lot easier :drive:

We only start 2 WR, so I will need 1 WR for 2 bye weeks of TO, and Andre Johnson. I took a shot with Boston on my bench, always WR to pick up for a week. As far as TE, only 10 tyeams start 1, got Witten late. As far as 2 Def, I will use better matchup all season, and already week 1 my stragegy is paying off (based on matchup).

I drafted the Bears so I could plug them in and leave them. Yes the Bears D could put up big numbers, but even as a Homer I'm fully aware that this is not their best match-up. You can't blindly start the Bears against the league's most potent offense who has had months to prepare and assume it's the right play. In my league you have to have 2 D's so the last pick of the draft I picked up Washington. Miami's discombobulated offense in week 1 should turn the 'Skins into a decent play so I'm benching Chicago in favor of Washington. Their favorable matchup against the Jets in week 9 during the Bears bye week will be the only other time the 'Skins get the nod.
