San Francisco is not the place for me to live.

The Lions. Oof.

Atlanta has the most uninvolved fans in the league.

I wouldn't want to live in New York.

None of the "New York City" teams play or live in New York.My picks

Arizona- Tradition of crappiness

Atlanta- Does the city even know they have a team?

Detroit- Tradition of crappiness

Dallas- Eagles fan

Ownership and city/climate mean quite a bit to me. Arizona- too hot, poor ownership. Detroit - poor ownership, too cold, nobody says good things about Detroit. Dallas - never liked 'em, can't stand the city. New Orleans - from what I saw from I-10, it looked like the biggest ghetto east of Oakland.

its sad...but I picked Chicago Over Detroit
Why is that?Edit: Oh. You're a true homer I see. Good for you in staying true to your team.
I live in Michigan, But I am actually a Bears fan. Right now the Bears are headed in the wrong direction. Detroit has a much better shot at the playoffs this season than Chicago.Bears current situation...Urlacher unhappy, wants a new contract (rumors he is threatening to retire)Briggs unhappy, doesn't like his new contract (might sit out mini-camps)Hester wants $$$ (claims to want 6yrs 40mil)Harris wants to be paid more than FreeneyMight have the worst Offense in the NFL

Maybe it's just the Minnesotan in me, but I'd love to play in Arizona with the new stadium and the weather.

I'm surprised to see Wasington doubling up everyone else in the east.

Looks to me like people are making the decision based more or less upon the anticipated 2008 standings rather than on some other factors.

That's not the question that you asked. (or at least that seems to be how most people are taking it) Arizona would seem to be a great place to live, but the team hasn't been good for a long time. The Bidwell's are not very good owners IMO.

That is the question I asked. I assumed people would take other factors into consideration.Maybe I was giving too much credit.

Arizona - easy choice

New Orleans - toss up over Atlanta

Detroit - duh

Philly - garbage city

Tried to take all considerations into account...location, tradition, quality of ownership, etc.

Detroit was easy..they've been horrible forever and that area of the counrty is cold and bitter. not a nice city either.

Chose Arizona over SanFran. Tradition of suckiness. Not sure the Bidwell's are bad to their players, or just not involved. San Fran was considered, but at least they have a tradition, plus a nice area to live in!

Chose Atlanta over New Orleans because of the lack of care their fan base seems to have, but I can't argue too much with either.

The East was tougher, and not just because I'm a birds fan. Philly is an awful place to live, but New York and Washington are no better. I don't like the ethical standards in Dallas...Jones cares more about winning then anything. Washington is running away with the voting (I suspect) because of owner miscues and over-involvement, but from a players perspective, I'd love to have somebody over-pay for my services, so I'm not sure why I'd care as a player. Philly has first class facilities, and a first class owner. He won't overpay, but they are fair. The fans are RABID, if a little unrealistic at times. New york has almost nothing going for it, IMO, other then a tradition of winning. Tough coach, very tough city, terrible area to live in, brutal media, lousy weather. New York is the "winner" here, although it's close.

Nobody that plays for the Jets or Giants live in or near New York. And I'm not sure "Hey, you'd be in New Jersey, not New York" is much of a selling point.
That is not even remotely true. Those that live in Jersey are often minutes from the City and a number live in Manhattan as well. Some Jets live on Long Island as well, at least until they move their practice facilities to joisey.

That was supposed to be a question more than a statement. It was to refute the statement "None of the "New York City" teams play or live in New York."I always forget to put a question mark.

I'm floored that the Redskins are leading the NFC East. Are you kidding me? No one has more history and at the very least you know you're going to be making some serious jack! :lmao:

Lots of Giants, Boys and Iggles fans on these boards though. ;)The recent cluster-$%!& with the head coach search couldn't have helped either.

And Arizona fans....Nevermind.

STL/Detroit/Atlanta/NYG

Toss up between SF and STL, but I think playing under an arrogant guy like Martz would drive me crazy.

The NFC North is looking pretty depressing with the Favre retirement. My gut thought the Pack, as I think the entire state of Wisconsin is still in depression. But the Lions are still the Lions.

Atlanta has a number of rebuilding years before they're of any relevance again.

Initial reaction was Washington, but Dan Snyder is like Mark Cuban of the NFL. I think I'd be alright with a luxury dressing room, state of the art training facility, and a private jet. Philly was my next pick, but that sports fans of Philadelphia are so scarred expectations are pretty low Went with the Giants, even the new Coughlin has still gotta be a drill-sargaent.

My votes:

Arizona... just bad ownership leads to crappy contracts and hold outs every season. They have just as much money as everyone else but for some reason have it all tied up in 3 players. Bad managment, not going anywhere

Chicago... DET has an awful GM, but they play in a brand new state of the art dome, and are rebuilding. I chose CHI because they are ALWAYS rebuilding... awful QB with a stuborn coach who refuses to take him out. So many guys want out or want new contracts... not a good place to be. If you're going to play outside in the snow in December for a home game, it makes it worse when you're on a losing team with no playoff hopes for the next 5 years.

Tampa Bay. How they won that division last year boggles my mind. They don't have a legitimate QB, their D is not what it used to be... that franchise just seems like it's hovering around the 9-7 mark with no sign of making vast improvements. Guys get old and they don't seem to have clear replacements that make you think "who started at that position 2 years ago???"

Dallas. Okay, I'm a GB fan so I would not want to go to DAL, but too many distractions there and an owner who is so full of himself. I really wouldn't want to play in that atmosphere. PHI has a good fan base, and the Giants just won a superbowl (as much as I hate Eli)... and Washington has high hopes every year. Dallas would be the worst for me. Though seeing Jessica Simpsons ta-tas from time to time wouldn't be a bad thing lol

Wow, I didn't read any other responses but still choose all 4 of the least popular teams (Lions, Falcons, Cards and Skins)

I don't inderstand Washington. If I were a player I would want to go to a team who's owner likes to thow money at players.

9ers. Kills me to say it, because they are my favorite team in any sport on any level, ever. But the future seems quite hopeless to me.

Lions. Terrible, with no future.

Tampa. Despise Gruden, would never want to play for him.

Eagles. Would never ever ever want to live in Philadelphia.

I'm surprised to see Wasington doubling up everyone else in the east.
Two words: Dan Snyder.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
If you are a player why wouldn't you want to play in Washington?? You are going to sign a big time contract and be asked to restructure every few years and take another tasty signing bonus.
Because if I were a player, I could make close to that jack somewhere else without having to work for an organization that, imo, is not poised to win unless Snyder changes his management style. The fans are great, the history is great, but the owner is terribly misguided and not someone I'd prefer to work for, anyway.

:goodposting: Not to mention a fan base that has sold out every game since Adam was playing football with Eve
If it were not for Snyder (and the fact that NY is my home), I would put the Skins at the top of the list to play, regardless of division. Now, Im sure for many other people, snyder is a bonus... but the question I asked is if I were a player, so Snyder is a deal breaker.

I voted totally on what CITY I wouldn't want to live in, since if any team had me on it, they wouldn't be bad any longer!

Alot of hate for the city of Philly. I live in Southern NJ shore area, and Philly is considered our big city as Atlantic City does not count. Please explain the hate for Philly "the city" as I have seen worse in regards to overall dirty cities or lack of things to do. Just interested in hearing outsiders thoughts, rather than just bashing. My vote was:Arizona: see AtlantaTIE... Detroit: always awful team & city made Philly look like Paris... Minnesota: Nice people, big mall & ???Atlanta: see 1st half of DET & too hot!!!Dallas: Eagles fan

You couldn't make close to that jack elsewhere. Look at how many Redskins players restructure their contracts every year. Portis has done so 3 times so far IIRC. That translates into several different guaranteed bonuses throughout your contract.

a big factor for me would be an outside stadium . football is not as interesting when played in a dome or enclosed/ retracktable roof stadium . the game is fun when it is open to random weather elements imo .

detroit = worst

atlanta, arizona and dallas close behind

Andy I live in NJ and I agree 1,000% ..NJ is definitely NOT the place you want to live.as for Giants/Jets players living in NJ, some do. Eli lives in Hoboken ( as does former backup QB Jesse Palmer) , Tyree lives in Montclair ( as does Yankees' Jeter), Sean O'Hara lives in Rutherford, Feagles lives in Franklin Lakes, Leonard Marshall lives in Mahwah, Wayne Chrebet was a Garfield, NJ resident as a kid,and now lives in Colts Neck NJ..Eric Howard used to live in Mahwah, .MANY of the players settle into Franklin Lakes, Saddle River, Ramsey, Mahwah, Hoboken or Montclair. Howard Cross still lives in NJ. George Martin lives in Ringwood. Even Joe Pisarcik still lives in NJ..Simms lives in Franklin Lakes and his son Chris went to Ramapo HS. There are a few select players and ex-players who still live in the area.

and just for kicks, I'll toss in the fact that I ran into Lou Duva ( boxing trainer ) at Modell's sporting goods in Totowa last Wednesday... lol..

I just like to take a shot at New Jersey whenever I can. Truth is, I've never been there and have no idea whether it's nice or not. I'm just playing on a stereotype ;)
