Taylor gets benched for Bryant McFadden. Probably just a breather -- Taylor just signed a long-term contract and McFadden isn't anything special.
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
Ike Taylor has lost his starting job, though not his confidence, the cornerback said after practice Wednesday at the Steelers’ South Side facility.
“I’ve just got to go out every day and work my way (back),” said Taylor, who signed a five-year contract extension worth $22.5 million in early September. “It’s all about how you respond basically.”
Taylor had probably his worst day as a professional in last Sunday’s 31-20 loss to the Denver Broncos.
He gave up a pair of touchdown passes to Javon Walker and was one of the Steelers that missed a tackle on Walker’s 72-yard touchdown run off a reverse. Walker finished with 134 receiving yards on six catches.
His big day coupled with the off on Taylor had is why Taylor is the team’s nickel back, at least for the time being, and Bryant McFadden is starting opposite Deshea Townsend at cornerback.
