Who's benching Westbrook this week? And for whom? Discuss.

I'm going with the following:

RB Steve Slaton @GB

RB Chris Johnson vs. Cleveland

W/R LenDale White vs. Cleveland

Don't bench Westbrook.
I agree....our league doesnt make you start a te....instead we can start either 4 rb`s or 4 wr`s...just have to start 2 at the other position you dont start 4...i HATE te`s as they do nothing. That said im starting westy- D.ward -P.Thomas and already used L.T....A.Johnson and Royal at wr...i HAVE to start westy under these rules...hes like a # 2

Don't bench Westbrook.
I wonder how many GMs that benched Westbrook last week failed to make their FF playoffs becuase of that decision?
I started him last week. But they were at home against Arizona. Now they're at home against the G-Men.How many owners will lose this week because they started their "studs" regardless of their matchups?
Pretty sure the game is in New York.
Er, that's what I meant. Thank you.

Why in hell would you bench a player coming off a 4 TD game who recently said he is the healthiest he has been all year?
One reason might be that he's going against a D tough enough to force him into a game like the one from 2 weeks ago.I have a hard time believing his high ankle sprain and broken ribs are better now than they were the first couple weeks of the season before he started accumulating this season's slate of injuries. He must have meant he feels better than he has at any point since suffering those injuries.

agreed. if you do, you are overthinking matchups. why would you ever bench him if he's gonna play?
23 , 33 , 1 , x , 20 , x , B , 43 , 15 , 8 , 10, 5 , 45 These are WBs FF numbers this year from one my leagues.

This is NOT a typical WB year.

It's potentially a mistake to play him tomorrow based on past history and on name recognition.

Everyone remembers the two 40+ point weeks, quickly forgotten are the 5, 10, 8, 15 point weeks.

Philly is struggling... the Giants are playing great and have a very good D... WB has some significant injuries that are not healed, and won't be for the rest of this season, regardless of what he says.

There's still a chance I might change my mind and put him in tomorrow... I'm fortunate to have a decent backup I can use... I'd rather have WB playing, obviously he's one of the top FF RBs when he's healthy. But like most FF owners, tomorrow's games are key for me - so I really don't want to take too much of a chance of only getting 10 points from my RB1.

It's a tough decision, and no where near the usual no brainer of "plug in WB with no worries if he's playing".

GL to all WB owners tomorrow.

:goodposting:Has anyone else paid attention to this? People should stop posting ridiculous stuff like "I'm benching Westy over..." after seeing these numbers. I will never understand why people bench their first round picks, regardless of the what match up it might be, especially during playoff time.

Maybe because people don't try to live in the past. Look what he did this year, as that is a better indication of what his performance will be today. I'm benching Westbrook for Hillis, Chris Johnson and Bush.

i see what you are saying, but Westy says he's feeling as good as he has all year. i think thats the key. if the eagles are going to score, it's prolly gonna Westy. the thing you cant deny, is Westy will get many touches if healthy.i'm thinkin mcpuker and the eagles are lookin at this game like their Super Bowl. i think they will move the ball and put up some points.

Maybe you should have drafted Peyton Hillis with your first round pick then eh? :football:

Nah, I drafted Hillis in the 2nd round of a re-draft league this year as I'm a Denver homer, so I knew him a little bit more then my leaguemates. I knew he would payoff come fantasy playoff time, so I am really excited I had that foresight.

Westy's statline for this week: 34 rushing yards, 3 receptions for 18 receiving yards; PPR fantasy points = 8.3

stop looking for reasons to NOT start westy  ....didnt we just go thru this thanksgiving????

Westy takes a dump off pass 50 yards to the endzone today...bank it :excited:

Benching Westy and nt feeling good about it for Jacobs and Hillis.... I am shooting for the stars today but I may shoot myself in the foot.

I'd hate to have WB on my bench after him scoring 4 TDs last week and then for at least 2 TDs again this week. Talk about shooting yourself in the head. Never bench your studs.

:goodposting: 2nd round? why? you coulda got him in the last round, or off the WW. thats a waste of a draft pick. and if you didnt start Westy, you made the wrong choice, unless Hillis has a career day.

So, how's benching Westy looking for you so far Denver Broncos? Oh, I know Hillis can go off for 200+ total yards and two TDs right? When will people EVER learn NOT to "bench" your studs, ESPECIALLY during the playoffs. Sheesh... :goodposting:

I always admire the people who have the balls to bench their studs...and sometimes it works out....but I can never bring myself to do it...and today, I'm pretty glad I didn't...

So glad I stuck with Westbrook these last two weeks. Things would be looking very bleak right now otherwise.

Although, ultimately, I deserve credit for making the switch ... I due owe the fact that I started Westbrook (partly) because of you guys. You know, sometimes fantasy owners start "I'm benching so and so ..." threads to see if we can be convinced otherwise. Yesterday, a number of you succeeded with that. My opponents still has Hillis, Hightower, and Steve Smith going ... but this afternoon, with what Westbrook, Slaton, and Chris Johnson put together ... I have a real good shot. Thanks again.

In fantasy football the players who you put in there without question are rare. Westbrook is one of them. Embrace it.

must win game for Philly - check

westbrook is a stud - check

westbrook healthiest he's been all year - check

bench westbrook = no
